    RPG for beginners.

Child of Light was a perfect recommendation as was Pier Solar.

I wouldn't of included Dragon Age. It's a great game. In fact my current favorite for XB1. But It can be at times complicated for those not familiar with RPGs.

Diablo 3 was another good choice.

Destiny may not be a bad choice. It's a shooter at it's core, but it does have RPG elements.

Shadow of Mordor is an action game with more RPG elements than Destiny and it's not really complicated either. I had alot of fun with it myself.

    :)

What's your favorite & least favorite game genre of all time?

Here were some RPGs that I could consider maybe:

    Fallout 3/Vegas

    South Park: Stick of Truth

    I don't know about Fable ...

More RPGs for beginners? As for sports games, I have a Kinect. I think Kinect Sports would be better for me,

  3. Ok so i encountered my first....well 2nd dragon actually.....what to do............

Glad you are enjoying SKyrim as your first RPG. Easily one of the best RPGs out ther. When battling dragons just do as suggested above. Save as much as possible.

    .

Another hint for beginners. You can store your items in barrels that are outside shops. Then go back later anytime you want to get them.

IDK what happened here, but you guys are characters. I like it. lol

Thanks again for all the suggestions, I already have Far Cry 4, GTA V, and AC Unity came in the bundle with my Xbox.

I will be checking out Alien: Isolation, I don't think it's an RPG, but it looks worth a look.

    Hey Million Nights.

Glad you realised I wasn't actually recommending "Alien: Isolation" as a textbook RPG but just putting it forward as a good game.

Not sure what that guy is getting his knickers in such a twist about.

"Dragon's Age" might be a large game but they're hardly going to be handing out degrees for completing it.

It's a roleplaying game. You pick a class and roleplay through the story.

The whole point of roleplay is not choosing the choices you "think" you're supposed to make but choosing the choices you, or the character you're playing would make.

In this respect you'll probably find yourself a better roleplayer than an expert like that guy.

There should be some great RPG's to come in the future. One to keep an eye on wiill be "The Witcher 3" coming up in early 2015. Keep an eye out for that.

You need to check out Lords of the Fallen, seems to be an under rated game, graphics are gorgeous, lvling is fun, however it is a challenge.

No point going easy though, hit the hard stuff first then the rest is cake and who don't like cake?

SS has a point DA is not a beginners RPG by any description.

There would be a fair few missions in DA where you would simply fail and not progress if you didn't mamage your party and skills correctly Which would lead to frustration and an unenjoyable experience, I know what I'm doing and ive stalled at one point
and need to rethink my party and strategy. perhaps some opinions would be more valid if a few more hours were sunk into the game.

CoL for sure, but at the moment this gen is fairly light on the RPG's especially for beginners. We do have The Witcher 3, Dark Souls 2, and Fable just to name a few coming out in the next few months.

^ we domBrand but neither Witcher or DS2 is going to hold a beginners hand, Fable on the other hand is a good shout as it can be deep (ish) but beginner friendly.

Well I've only put about 30 hours into "Dragon Age: Inquisition" and I don't think I'm anywhere near the end so it's definately a game you'll get your money's worth.

As far as the OP is concerned if you can successfully manage to get in and out of your house using keys, are able to successfully operate the taps in your bathroom and can use public transport without the aid of a carer then I'd say you're big enough to
    be playing "Dragon Age: Inquisition".

As Genchy says, if you don't pay any attention to what you're doing then things might not work out as they could but that's pretty much how the world works outside of video games as well.

This post is funny. lol I've been successfully doing all of thee things for quite a few years now, so I think I should be fine.

I'm not looking for something mindless, I don't mind thinking about things, also dying (trial and error) doesn't bother me either.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, and the discussion is nice too.
