    Your Security Protocol Will Not Work ?!!

    so i just tried connecting to my homehub4 on xbox one, when i go to add wireless network i enter my password, and i get this message - Your security protocol wont work - this console supports WPA/WPA2 and WEP network security protocols, but your router is
    using somthing else. you will need to change your routers configuration. please help

    You will have to look up your router's model number online for steps on how to access the web settings through your browser (typically). There's that, and a default username and password (if one hasn't been configured yet).

    The best security protocol to use for Wifi is WPA2-PSK (AES).

    Many campuses block gaming consoles from connecting.
    Connect your console to a PC via a bridged connection, and then just connect the PC to the internet.

    The reason this works is because your Xbox is using your PC as a proxy to connect to the LAN. Basically, all the router sees is your PC connecting, even though it is your Xbox using the internet.

    Hey Klaus!

    Thanks for bringing this issue to us unfortunately this has to be addressed by the school IT department since the issue is the Consoles MAC address has to be given permission to access the network. Reach out to them and they should be able to assist in the
    matter! Also try Clearing out the Network Card Cache (alternate MAC address) by following these steps:

    To clear the alternate MAC

    Settings

    Network

    Network settings

    Advanced settings

    Alternate MAC address

    Select Clear and then Restart
