Router will not assign an IP address

I have an Xbox 360 Star Wars edition and can't connect wirelessly to Live.com. I have tried all of the things I could find on this site and still, my Xbox says that it is unable to obtain an IP address. I have a Belkin N600DB router, model F9K1102V2 and
my tablets work fine on it. I have reset back to factory defaults on the Xbox and tried to manually set the IP but nothing has worked. The Xbox sees my network and my network sees the Xbox but still I can't get the router to assign an IP. I notice that a rep
above asked for several values and I have those if it will help so please just answer with any ideas. The values that seem to be important are:

W: 0000 - 0021

X: C000 - 4003

Y: 0000 - 0000

Z: 0000 - 0000

ID: 0001 - 0007

L: 8015 - 1901

Q: 8007 - 0435

T: Wireless

A: 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0

G: 0.0.0.0

D: 0.0.0.0, 0.0.0.0

N: belkin.d8c.guests

S: No security

C: 1

:)

Xbox One WiFi problem

I have a router but I have no idea about how to assign a static IP address. Do you do it through the router or through the Xbox One?

Network will not assign IP address to XBOX

Log into your routers admin page and assign it a static ip address. Usually when a network wont assign a particular device an ip address it's not usually the device but it's the router.

You should power cycle your modem and router before setting the ip address

Router will not assign an IP address

Greetings Regental!

Appreciate if you could post up the make and model of your modem as well.

Could you start by visit the Belkin website, to make sure you router is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware.

I suggest that you disable WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) on you router and reconfigure wireless settings manually instead of using a setup wizard.

Choose a name for your wireless network, (SSID) composed to a single word (no spaces).

Try set the security method to WPA2-PSK with AES encryption, to see if the Xbox is able to connect with this method setup.

Choose a password/passphrase for your wireless network.

Make sure UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) is enabled on your router.

Remember, save/apply any changes that you've made to your router's settings.

Now, on your console, go to Xbox Network Settings and select
Configure Network
. Select the Additional Settings tab and
Restore to factory defaults.

Reconfigure wireless settings on your console and let us know if you are able to connect properly.

Hi taidara,

I tried these things but it didn't work. However, when manually configuring do you use the LAN IP address or the WAN IP address. My modem lists both. If I turn my Xbox off and look at my connected devices, the Xbox is not there, however when I power it on
I see it appear with an IP address and MAC address. The IP displayed is different from either my LAN or WAN address as it shows xxx.168.169.x where my LAN shows xxx.168.2.x. My modem is a Viasat satellite modem.

Are you located in Sweden?
when manually configuring do you use the LAN IP address or the WAN IP address
That would be a uniquely assigned private/local address (LAN IP).

If both have a mask of 255.255.255.0 then they are part of the same network.

cant connect to LIVE on my wiried xbox when my son is on his new xbox wirelessly??

looks as if your router is trying or is assigning the sam IP address to bothe systems which would causes the conflict you are having.what i suggest is in your router setting there should be a place to set reserve ip address for specific systems this way
when each one starts up they have there own ip address assigned to them and not trying to assign the same ip address to both systems.
