Xbox One wireless internet connection problem with Netgear router

    Hi there,

It could be that the router is filtering out the console's MAC address. What can be done is to log in to the router's settings and from there make sure it's not filtering out the console's MAC. If it is we would need toadd
your console's MAC address to your router's list of authorized MAC addresses.

A good website that tends to guide through this process and even gives the login information for the routers (most of them) is
Setup a port forward in your router to allow incoming connections for multiplayer games, VOIP, DVR, and security cameras.

If you change your router's MAC filtering settings, restart your router before trying to connect to Xbox Live.

It says "Your router or modem may be set up to filter out some devices. Make sure your router or modem isn't filtering out your console's MAC address, which is 2C-54-91-AF-57-22.

  5. Hello, Maddog6_04!

Could you clarify a little about how it won't?

Does it even show your wireless networks?

If you are having problems connecting, I would try the steps found here at “I need help with my Xbox One network connection” for resolution of
    that issue.

Give the steps a try and let us know how that helps

    Thanks!

filtrage par adresse mac [Edit - Translation] - mac address filtering

    Hello Yousef,

Mac filtering is a setting accessed through your routers settings, and not through the Xbox settings.

Wireless routers can prevent unauthorized network access by using a feature called MAC filtering. Unfortunately, MAC filtering can also prevent your console from connecting to Xbox Live.

If MAC filtering is turned on, try one of the following:

    • Add your Xbox One console's MAC address to your router's authorized list.
    • Or, turn off MAC filtering temporarily on your router to see if MAC filtering is preventing your console from connecting to Xbox Live.

You can find your consoles mac address in your network settings.

    1. On Xbox Home, navigate to the left until you reach Pins.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select Network.
    4. Select Advanced Settings.
    5. Write down your Wireless MAC address.

    Hope this helps!
