Rory McIlroy golf EA Access

Me, yosh and Shift should be on it tonight Boozy, well give you a shout. Whats the player limit?

 

Tried it today on EA access,its very very content light with only 8 real courses.The excellent create a golfer feature has also gone.GOLF WITHOUT LIMITS sez EA how can this be next gen when titles from 5 years ago have more content???? PRE ORDER CANCELLED.

 

Just played 18 holes with Boas and Yosh and I can wait for it to be free on EA Access !!

Played the weekly tournament this morning on tour - failed miserably at +32 lol, that course is hard

 

I might have jumped the gun a bit!! 1st time trying it and we didn't do any tutorials and it was on arcade mode so it seemed too easy, we tried St Andrews and that was more of a challenge!! Then changed the difficulty and I just about ended up in the sea

I'll try it again when beer isn't clouding my judgement !

 

Lol! Yeah beer and a higher difficulty won't mix!! I didn't even bother with arcade mode this time, quite glad I did otherwise I think I wouldn't have liked it. Try the Grand Canyon course on tour difficulty mate - think I only hit one hole in par

Been playing it last nite i like it

 

My main gripe with the game is the lack of atmpsphere in MP. No crowd noises, no commentary etc makes the game seem very bland.

 

Please forgive my stupid question but can you play as a female golfer in this game? I'm guessing no, but thought I'd ask anyways.

 

Goth I've only got the 10hr trial with EA Access and there is a couple of female characters I can see, but I didn't see any real female golfers , you can customise your own golfer to be female.

 

@ Mr Boozyhead, Thanks for the info. I actually downloaded this last night, but haven't tried it yet. I wasn't sure how much customization was in the game.

 

Forget this game; it's an absolute bore IMO. I'd rather do the real thing and actually go golfing. And you know what? That's EXACTLY what I did with friends just yesterday to celebrate my 31st birthday (which was actually on Friday). You see, I find actually
playing golf with (especially with friends) far more fun to actually do than to simply watch on TV (which is also a considerable bore) or play in a video game. As a matter of fact, I find this true of most sports games - they just don't hold my interest, and
this game is no different. For me, I'd rather reserve video games for the kind of things that you can't do in real life (or that you're less likely to do in any case), such as breaking the law, going to space, or saving the world.

 

Golf games are fun and relaxing.

You can play a few holes or do a whole course.

The plus about this game is that you can do exactly that.

The downside is that much of the customisation that you would come to expect from a Tiger Woods game has been taken away.

Now I don't NEED to create a busty blonde model to enjoy a game of golf... but it certainly does add to the AMUSEMENT factor when you use that character to defeat a bunch of guys who BOUGHT 100% stats for their men players and they still can't beat your
created model.

But because it takes more backwards steps than forwards then I'm not in a rush to part with my money over this one.

It's like they did with the SIMs 4 when they released it without half the content you normally found in the game.

I'm not saying it's not fun.

Just that it would be silly to reward a company offering you LESS content for more money with a purchase.

 

Oh, and I'll just add to that...

On Twitter they say there's gonna be free stuff in the future.

That may be more courses... it may be a 9 iron. They've not been very specific as of yet.

If it ends up being more courses then maybe this Next Gen offering that has more in common with original XBox release than anything on the 360 will be worth picking up.
