Root Cause OF Repeated XBOX ONE S Crashes FINALLY Solved !!!

    Good Morning,

I just wanted to put it out there on the XBOX community forums that, finally, I believe that my XBOX ONE S console is behaving normally. After all this time, it turned out that the root cause of the problem that I was experiencing was directly related to,
and caused by, a problem with the internal power supply on the console.

After expending a great deal of time researching the problem on Google, I came across a thread entitled "My XBOX won't turn on." This led me to a Microsoft support document that detailed how to reset the internal power supply of my console. My problem, however,
was different: I could indeed turn on my console, but it kept repeatedly crashing and shutting off.

A loud, audible buzzing sound would precede these crashes. I suspected some conflict between my console and my 4K TV, perhaps between the optical audio cable that I had plugged into my console, and into my 4K TV. I thought, perhaps, since the 4K HDMI cable
I connected to my 4K TV carried both audio and video signal, that somehow there was a sort of conflict between my console and my 4K TV related to audio. In an attempt to fix my console crashes, I connected the optical audio cable I had instead to my 4K TV,
and then to my speaker bar. I connected my 4K HDMI cable to my XBOX ONE S alone, without any other cables whatsoever.

I managed, after a call to Vizio, my 4K TV's manufacturer, to rule out any sort of conflict of this kind. That being said, my TV, which is now a few years old, had been experiencing some weird display issues (goofy and bled-out colors, slow start-up, freezing,
etc.). These problems, however, were resolved by performing a factory reset of my 4K TV, as well as receiving a remote push update for my 4K TV from Vizio itself.

In addition, I have a 4K Roku Premier box, and it was perfectly happy with whatever HDMI port or connection I selected to employ with my 4K TV. I had suspected that, perhaps, the 4K 60 Hz HDMI port on my TV was misbehaving, however, since the Roku had no
problems with this port, that was also not the problem.

During one of my calls with XBOX support, a technician had suggested that there might have been some sort of corruption within the internal hard drive of my console. However, yet again, that was not the root cause of the problem either. Several hard resets,
as well as full resets of my console (including completely wiping all data from the internal hard drive) had been attempted, to no avail. Further, even after an in-warranty repair from Microsoft, my mystery crashes not only continued to manifest themselves
with my XBOX ONE S console, they got worse, in terms of severity and frequency. In fact, one day recently, my console crashed no less than three times in 15 minutes. Then, after that, my console would constantly crash after no less than 5 minutes of being
    powered on.

I had also tried to ensure that my console was not plugged into any surge protector or plug strip, since one tech that I had spoken with from Microsoft had suggested that plug strips and surge protectors tend to cause XBOX ONE consoles to misbehave and crash.
However, yet again, even after directly plugging my console into a wall outlet, it repeatedly crashed. In addition, no matter what settings I configured on my console, it still crashed. These included changing the color fidelity, employing 1080p instead of
    4K display, and so on.

So, in the end analysis, after exhaustive testing, research, and an incredible level of frustration on my part, the only thing left that could have been causing my console to crash was
a problem with the internal power supply. I thought that simply unplugging it from the wall outlet would do the trick. However, I quite literally needed to disconnect the power brick and power cord
from the back of the console itself, then re-connect it after several seconds.

Thankfully, and to my great relief, my console did indeed power itself back on after performing this procedure, as the Microsoft document that I read had indicated, if the internal power supply was reset correctly. Then, after that, it was smooth sailing.
My XBOX ONE S stayed powered on with no crashing, for well over 48 hours straight, irregardless of whether I ran a game, streamed music, or even changed settings on it, for higher color fidelity, or to have it power instant-on. Also,
it was not overheating, as was also suggested by one of the techs at XBOX support. I made sure that I did not have any cable boxes or anything stacked on top of my console, since the cooling vents are on top of my console.

So, in the future, I am certain that it would save so many people that have experienced this problem an
endless amount of grief and frustration, if XBOX support were to just simply tell people to perform a proper reset of the internal power supply. Ironically, I have begun to think that I might not even have had to ship my console back to Microsoft for
a repair. My console was certified to be a "Grade a" refurbished model that I purchased from E-Bay.

I spent many hours complaining to E-Bay that the seller had sent me a defective console. I even filed a dispute with Pay Pal, since I had used Pay Pal to make the purchase of my console. This dispute was successfully resolved to my satisfaction. The final
solution was simple, direct, and effective: reset the internal power supply!
I only wish that I had been told to perform this simple procedure at least a month ago from XBOX support, when I first started experiencing crashes with my console.

So, I am sharing my consumer experience with the larger XBOX ONE community, as well as the final solution to fix these mysterious XBOX ONE crashes, in hopes that this discussion will help someone else avoid all the aggravation and frustration that I experienced
    for so long.

    Best,

Xbox one will now stop reading my discs unless I power cycle every other disc change.

It started today when I ejected Titanfall, the system ejected the disk and then sucked it back in. So I hit eject again and put in Forza and it told me there was an error reading the disk. So I ejected and tried again, same error. Multiple tries with multiple
disk to no avail. Finally I unplug the console and reboot and problem solved, or so I thought cause later on in the night it repeated the same cycle. Anyone else had this issue?

I have had to disconnect the external power brick and power cord, after 5 minutes, hold the power on/off button down for a count of 60 several times each month just to keep games from crashing to dash. Been doing that trick since the console was new. (Old
style X1) and the trick works.

Got a brand New X1-S given to us as a gift and it to will crash to dash during gameplay, but far less frequent than mine. Thing is, the power brick is internal. So how exactly do you. "literally disconnect the power brick and the power cord."?

  5. I imagine that you unplug the cable from the back and press the power button several times in order to drain the capacitors. Leave everything off for a few minutes to just make sure and then connect everything back and power the console on.

That's how I'd reset the internal PSU on a One S.

Cannot Download "Kinect Sports" purchased over Xbox Live (from console)

Ok. What do we have now?

MS owns my money for that content. I was not warned that "it will be impossible to use the content on my console".

I cannot switch the Region to "Belarus" one, cause there are no Belarus at all!

(by the way, can you give me the 100%, that the root cause is the Region problem?)

Why the 72% can be downloaded, but the rest of 28% not ?

The proportion is almost the same each time when i am trying to repeat my attempt.

Maybe the REFUND will simply solve my issue?
