What an amusing thread. The Earth 7, 000 years old and 'as of now, I feel like I know more than I need to know, and I already know what I know I NEED to know'... lol? You can and should always know more, but ignorance is bliss and there is safety in a complacent
existence.

I always find it interesting when people say that 'the bible has proof to back up everything that's in it'. Someone had to write that Bible and even making the ridiculous assumption that a god did actually put the Bible on the Earth two or so thousand years
ago, you don't think that over time the Church could have --or *would* have-- manipulated it to manipulate people like you? You don't think one of the most powerful organisations on the planet could have created its own proof for whatever purpose they need?

They don't even have to. They teach their followers that it's right to follow them and people happily listen and obey. How genius is that?!

Who's to say that the person who wrote the bible wasn't high of some stuff back in the day in their cave and was bored, so they decided it would be funny to spin some wild exaggerated stories while in their trance-like state with the hope that it would pull
peoples legs generations down the line. Then as time went on people and organisations manipulated it to the point where it became some giant game of chinese whispers.

 

That's an excellent question many should ask themselves.

He is the one who died, and was buried, and who rose again.

there are many people who choose not to believe in him, but can not deny him and what he did and that he lived.

The Holy Bible

Once upon a time, 2BC, there was a guy named Bob.

Bob wandered the Egyptian desert until he was parched as ***.

When he was appropriately parched, he found a mystical pool of water.

This was actually liquid ecstasy, and it blessed Bob with the ability to write.

He always was envious of the power others had so he developed a glorious plan.

He killed his llama and used its skin to bind the words he put to parchment.

Upon making it to Jerusalem, he took over the local Community Centre.

Using his book to ensla-- educate the locals, he taught that salvation would come to all those that believed.

He soon became revered and worshipped by all around.

He held much more power than the government, though he was careful not to display it.

It helps when the Prime Minister and her Generals believe.

Teachings that must be adhered to for life to bring salvation that never comes is a clever trick.

The Romans rejected this as they believed they were the sovereign power 'round here.

A year and a half after Bob's arrival and effective takeover of Jerusalem, the Romans arrived.

Bob knew they weren't to be swayed by his teachings.

He knew they were going to kill him.

And he knew he had a short time to leave his legacy.

Adding 'Exodus' to his novel --as he was about to make his-- he made some changes.

He wrote that he had been blessed out in the desert.

He wrote that he had been charged with dying to save all straight males, for this was his intended reach.

He wrote that he accepted his death.

And he wrote that he would one day return to bring ecstasy to all his followers.

The legionaries that tickled him to death saw the effect his novel had on the easily-controlled populace.

They brought it back to the Roman Emperor, who knew he could refine and develop it.

Exercising total control over the Romans and all barbarians was his goal.

He had the legionaries executed for 'Improper and Crude Use of Feathers' so only he would hold Bob's power.

The Emperor called himself Pope Emperor I and spread the teachings to all Romans.

The Romans spread the teachings to the barbarians they hadn't killed.

Soon he had everyone believing in salvation that never comes.

The Bible says so you do? Interesting. I actually just wrote the real Bible and I think you should question the one you follow just as you should be questioning mine.

 

Very amusing. But I see Bob's point some of the rules in the bible are completely crazy. It was obvious a lot of it was to help control what would be best in leaderships eyes for their people at that time. I believe in God but I don't believe in the bible
one bit. It is too back and forth with too many unfounded rules. If it were real I'd be going to h*** right away just for being gay. It doesn't matter any of the good things I do. I'm automatically evil. The bible was based on fears, control, and trying to
keep the population healthy and alive during certain plagues. Anyone who follows anything blindly forgets one of the greatest gifts we have fought and died for which is free will and thought.
