    Rocksmith Won't Recognize Cable


    I keep running into a problem where Rocksmith(2014 Edition on Xbox One) keeps telling me that my cable is not plugged in. I have tried going into every USB Port on my console, I have tried closing the game and reopening it, and I even tried to Power Cycle
    my Xbox, but nothing seems to work or help. My guitar works perfectly fine on a regular amp, and my EXT Hard Drive that connects via USB works on all Ports and the cable is brand new. I don't know what the heck is going on with it.

    Hello Aaron503! I'm Annanda and I'd be happy to help you with your question.

    Like it was mentioned before, only the official cable will work on the Xbox, so you have to make sure you bought the original one.

    What you can try doing is physically power cycling your Xbox.

    Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button  on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

    Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button  on the console or the Xbox button  on your controller.

    Is it an official cable you have, or a third party one? Only the official one will work on Xbox.

    Yes (the 6.3mm guitar cable to USB). The wireless ones from similar games will not work cross-platform.

    How can I buy Rocksmith?

    Rocksmith is only available as a physical product since it requires a custom USB cable to work. It is not available as a download.
