Rocksmith 2014 Remastered not appearing as a free download for me when it should?

So Rocksmith 2014 Remastered came out, according to Major Nelson, if we own a copy of the original 2014 edition, it would be a free download.

Ubisofts website states the game as;

Rocksmith 2014 Edition Remastered is a free patch for all platforms and an updated re-release of Rocksmith 2014 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Macintosh. Remastered is the same core experience that has helped so many people learn to play guitar,

Yet it still says the game will cost me 39.99 right now at a discount...

How do I bypass this and get my free patch?

Downloaded two new songs for rocksmith and they aren't in the song list

Yes the songs will show in Rocksmith 2014, the good news is that for a small charge you can download the songs from Rocksmith as a pack to play in Rocksmith 2014, it was £6.75 here in the UK for that, absolute bargain.

No, they haven't helped me out (also no real response officially in the thread you suggested).

Yes, I still have this problem.

I've bought 2 songpacks for the original Rocksmith on Xbox360 which I cannot download free of charge for the Xbox One version of Rocksmith 2014.

The lack of updates on this is ... worrying.

according to the FAQ it is not a new game, it's an update to your existing game. try launching it and see what happens.

There was a remastered version released of the 2014 Rocksmith. It's unlikely we'd see it
as a BC title though. Any game that requires a peripheral or Kinect cannot be made BC.

If you're looking at it in the Store, it's to purchase a digital copy of the remastered version. When you install the original game on your system, if you check for updates it should install an update which includes the remastered content.
