Rocket League online

Hello, my son has a new XBOX ONE and a new CD of Rocket League. We purchased Game Pass and then he was able to play online against other players until very recently. We did not purchase Gold...... and now he cannot play online anymore and our account is
in good standing with the next billing in Feb for Gamepass

Can anyone suggest something we are doing incorrectly or should check? Xbox seems to be pushing us to purchase Gold but yet we own the CD and used to play online with just Gamepass.

You need to have a gold subscription to play online.

The gamepass just gives you access to over 100 games at no cost as long as you have an active gamepass subscription,it does not give you access to online multiplayer.

It also lets you buy & keep any games included with the gamepass at a discount should you wish to own them.

I believe there was a promo where you got a months gold if you subscribed to gamepass in some regions or you possibly used the 14 day trial that comes with a new account so one of those may be the reason your son could play online.

Doesn't matter if you own the game on disc,you still need an active gold subscription in order to access online multiplayer,there is no way around this.

If your son want's to play online then he would need to buy a gold subscription.
