Road Trips: Any Way To Avoid These Annoyances

Road trips wore out their welcome before the end of the first "season". I am finding these are taking a ton of time that would better be spent finishing off events. I am getting tired of the:

Start at Horizon - Go to Race - Go To Race (in different region) - Go to Race (in different region) - Go to Horizon sequence.

Yes, it continues even after the "Season 2" race. I don't need the skill points anymore (3 perks left, which are faster accumulating in races anyway).

Is there a way to avoid this unnecessary game bloat (maybe 25 minutes or more of non-productive down time) per 3 events? That would have been an awesome perk - starting races in the Progress tab (going right to the races without any driving). .

    :)

    Halo 4, no sound

To HELP prevent these sorts of damages to discs you can avoid moving your Xbox 360 when there is a game disc in it for one, especially road-trips. However, your Xbox 360 itself may have a defective and/or malfunctioning CD drive that is damaging discs. If
this were so, you certainly shouldn't accidentally damage all of your games if this happens more than once until the CD-tray is repaired or replaced.

25 minutes per road trip? I don't know that I've ever seen a Road Trip timer that was over 8 minutes. I think you're exaggerating a bit here.

Road trips are just the way you progress through the game. They're also a part of exploring the world and driving new roads. Embrace and enjoy the road trips. If you only want to race, race, race - play Forza Motorsport. Horizon 2 isn't only about racing.

When I see people complain about things like this - it feels like they're really trying hard to find something to complain about.

  5. I understand the desire to complete everything in the most efficient manner, but I would have to agree with crunchy on this one. Horizon 2 is more than just a list of checkpoints, its about the journey. Roadtrips give you the opportunity to sit back and
explore the world, wandering as you please. For me, I get great pleasure out of roadtrips. After a day of work, its nice to come home, clear a few races and then wander for a while.(ofcourse, everyone enjoys different things, so one can play how they choose.)

Anyway, Im pretty sure you cant avoid them. Atleast I have not seen a method of doing it.

For note, I have seen roadtrips up to 15minutes, but never 25min.

Road trips are a more than a little annoying. I understand maybe having them in the first "season" maybe even the second and final "season". But after the credits roll?

Part of this is that the first two seasons are surprisingly short (16 + 1 event, or 64 races per season - and there are only two). You still have 136 events to compete (or about 544 races).

However, when you finish the second "season" and the credits roll, what is the point? I already beat the "story mode".

Now I have to finish 138 more races with lots of filler in between. It is annoying looking at the clock and finding an hour has gone by and only two events have been checked off the list - because this free-roam stuff that I don't really need (level 154,
perks maxed). If I can only do about 2 events per hour, it would only take about 69 more hours to finish the events (most of that spent doing nothing productive).

The sequence of dead time frequently exceeds 25 minutes (all the sub-road trips added together in that single road trip), the individual ones are 5 minutes + for me.

So: Horizon to Event 1 (5+ minutes), Event 1 to Event 2 (5+ minutes), Event 2 to Event 3 (5+ minutes), Event 3 to Horizon (5+ minutes). I could finish and entire event in the "dead time".

So I played the first Horizon, and noticed in online play, people were cruizin around, not racing , just driving around having fun, so my guess is that Turn 10 saw the same thing and decided to incorporate it into the single player game. I for one enjoy
it. I also know that this is not everyone's cup o tea. With that being said, here is my suggestions not only to you but anyone that has a complaint about a game.

    A) you could rent the game before buying to make sure it's something you will want to play for some time.

    B) If you bought it and don't like it, sell it and get something else, or see the above option.

    C) Make your own games they way you want. This way you will be happy with the end results. ( just be aware that if you publish your games..... not everyone will like them for one reason or another)

While I may congratulate you on reaching level 154, I wonder if all you want to do is race why not just play Forza 5? I would also like to add if you don't like aspects of Horizons 2, you may want to skip The Crew, or at least rent it.

    Just fast travel.

I like driving to each race adds to the realism and immersion, also love the hospital records radio station.
