Rise of Tombraider disc install - messup if needing updates

New Series X migrated from X1.

If all updates are there when starting game from disc, all is fine.

But if any update it's messed up

- queue listing keeps refreshing image of game plus "Updating..." every second

- no estimated download time, and no bandwidth

- and stops update every now and then and you have to resume

Had to can and not finish a 29 GB update.

- when asked to do update while installing disc, I say later

- this way that updates goes ok since you start an update when game is not started

But updates needed for all addons I have become a mess and have to resume every minute or so. They don't show separate updates, so always initiated as game starts.

Luckily those were small to went through in the end.

Not sure if general fault since other games went ok so far that also were disc installs.

Never had anything like that on 360 or X1 though.

But might be game developer thing how they handle updates if there when starting game also.

Anybody had similar, please chime in...

Thanks, yes, so far only on Rise if Tombraider game.

I have 10 addons for it, so might be due to that also.

Seems to me that some parts of game are still running messing things up for updates part.

- usually you have to start game again after updates are done

- so nothing of game should be running I think

Hope there are no more updates for it, or I have to cancel and redo it all from scratch again installing disc and so forth.

Sorry to hear that you're having a bad time installing this game.
Is this happening only when you try to update this game?

If yes, may I know what did you tried so far to fix this problem?
In that way I can advise you different things or how to proceed.

In the meantime, this can be a bit basic but in case you didn't try it, it's good to cover the possibility:
1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

After that, try to remove and re-add your profile on the console.

Also disconnect your router from power for about 3 minutes. Then connect it again an when everything is working, try again

Games download and install the updates available before installing the disc, if you have poor internet speeds then this is why, take dead rising that has a 12 GB update to it, the downloads first then installs the disc, try disconnecting from the network
first then install the disc.
