Rise of the Tomb Raider

Nice and now they got no excuse to release a Tomb Raider game without at least 100 hour of content.(like most "open world" these days).

 

I'd love to see a 100 hour game here but somehow I can't see it being that big.

Having said that, I thought the last game was just right. Ok not the biggest story/campaign but if you went after all the collectibles etc it was a decent size.

 

100% agree with that Lofty, I'd much rather a quality game than something filled up with mindless nonsense just to claim it a 100hr spectacular.

 

Tomb Raider isn't a game that requires 100 hours of gameplay. A good story, set pieces and tombs is all it needs. I also think the last game was just the right length, if games are too long then I tend not to complete them.

 

I agree with you folks above.

Of course I'd love to see a 100 hour game. People expect that and more on something like Fallout but I could see Tomb Raider getting boring/tedious unless it had some gripping story from start to end.

And hopefully this will be the same as the last game for me. Enjoyed it that much I played through it twice. So much fun to play!

 

There are a lot of quality open world games with 100 hrs (or more)....I don't see why not in a Tomb Raider....

The reboot on Xbox 360 took me,maybe 35 hrs (surely less) story + all collectibles....I think,the story is around 15 hrs...

The original Tomb Raider was around 30-40 hrs,mainly because of difficulty (and bugs)....And (i repeat myself),why 20 years later,it wouldn't be possible for Crystal Dynamic to do better and bigger...Especially without useless multiplayer.

Tomb Raider never was about a story but more about exploration,platformer,action,puzzle with a plot.

I don't want decent,i want big....I ate my witcher 3,i'm eating my Mad Max and still hungry for a Tomb Raider (of that size).And pretty sure that i will have some room left for a Just Cause 3.

 

I feel ya Tzar i would love a 100+hr tomb raider i just dont see it happening but either way the games gonna be great

 

Update:

It appears Rise of the Tomb Raider will have some sort of competitive play after all, although it's not clear what form this will take.

"Crystal Dynamics are hard at work on Rise of the Tomb Raider and excited to deliver an amazing experience on Nov. 10 (US, 13, Nov. UK)," a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement.

"In the coming weeks and months, stay tuned for more info on all things Rise of the Tomb Raider - including how players will be able to extend their single-player campaign and compete with their friends."

So what could this relate to? Co-op or some sort of special leaderboard mode? We'll no doubt find out soon.

Rise of the Tomb Raider won't have multiplayer *update* or...

 

Humm,pretty sure it will be somekind of speed run leaderboard.....

Nothing like," it took me 100 hrs to fully complete the game"...(new world record)....arf....

 

I won't peronally be interested in a speed run leaderboard.

On games like this I like to take my time, explore etc!

But other than that i don't see what they can do...Maybe number of headshots,rabbits killed...boring ,anyways.

 

If a game isnt 100 hours + then it better god damned have magnificent replay value. $65 is a lot of money to someone who doesnt live with their parents and its time we demand more for our money.

 

I'll be very happy with no Multiplayer and have no interest in any type of competive mode ( whatever that could be). I thought the last one was a good length and wont be disapointed if it is the same or slighlty longer.

 

^This, the last one was perfect in length, any more would have been bloated filler and ruined the pacing of the game. I would rather have 20 - 30 hours of quality than a 100 hours of pap.
