Sony fanboys are irate. I own both consoles so it doesn't really matter to me. Depending on if its timed exclusivity or not its a good pickup for MS though.

rise of the tomb raider did not shown in HDR on my Xbox one s, while gears of war 4 works fine.

When I launch gow 4, my TV shows an HDR mark.

When I launch rise of the tomb raider, it does not.

Is the HDR feature of this game an Xbox one X exclusive one?

Microsoft must be throwing them a ton of money to make the game Xbox One exclusive and make up for the lost sales from PC and PS4 gamers.

Still this is the type of news that proves that Microsoft still has its eye on getting the best games for its system, that to me is very good news indeed.

 

This is great news! Glad to be a part of it. Tomb Raider was great, and is in my top 10 games. Rise of the Tomb Raider will be amazing.

 

Looks like it's gonna be timed based on Spencer's wording, and also coming to 360 going by "Exclusive to Xbox" and not specifying the Xbox One. I'm more disappointed they're not going to solely focus on next gen consoles if anything.

 

I loved the first tomb raider. Honestly surprised that this one is going to be exclusive to the xbox one though.

 

this is a really stupid idea. why would square enix choose console exclusivity over multiplatform release when i think tomb raider failed to meet their sales quota? now they are guaranteed to lose sales by narrowing the market. this does not give me much
hope that we will see another sequel...unless rise of the tomb raider: we
[Mod Removed] edition comes out a year after the "exclusive" version releases.

 

^^ I'm sure Microsoft will give them enough money to make up for any lost sales by only being on one console.

I like this news and if it only turns out to be half as good as the last TR than it will be good.

 

Agreed Brandiesel1, This is a great move, and Square Enix, and Crystal dynamics would not take a deal if it was going to hurt them. Great Move Xbox.

 

the reboot was good and all, but i just don't think tomb raider has enough appeal anymore to warrant exclusivity deals. third party exclusive deals, especially in the middle of established multiplat franchises, are stupid and do more to hurt a game than
help it.

 

What I take from this is that used games are obviously fine and that the Game industry is okay because clearly you can't complain how bad your 3 million sold game did and then cut out two entire markets for a sequel.

 

^^I would totally agree if it was the Tomb Raider's of the old but the newest TR game in the was a much needed breath of fresh air adding a whole new layer of appeal(I personally loved the new TR game better than any of the past games including the legendary
original) and i think the XBOX One gamers got a excellent deal here.

 

I was hoping to buy the sequel for PC again.

 

I think this is awesome, I've recently been seeing people say Xbox needs to get into the exclusive game and here it is, now don't complain.
