This is a bit different though, buying an already established franchise as an exclusive? Seems a bit 'cheap' to me (although i doubt it was cheap).

 

It was a surprise and I still think it will make it's way to the PS4 a year later.

But I know a lot of people say it's a mistake by Crystal Dynamics but it's a good exclusive for Xbox One, it's not a system seller, but it's good to have it among other exclusives.

@Shell DR3 and Ryse are still exclusive on the Xbox One as they're not on the PS4, I suspect Tomb Raider will still come out for the PC later.

 

Those with long memories might recall that Square Enix got enticed away from another platform before, and went ahead and released Final Fantasy VII on PS1 having released the previous ones on Nintendo platforms.

It's also worth noting that Tomb Raider 2 and 3 were exclusives for PS1 - and at least the second
was a paid exclusive at that.

 

Personally for me, it's a shame, as it means I don't have any way to play the next tomb raider having got invested in this reboot on PC.

 

Definitely a surprise when I heard it yesterday but either way, I really look forward to the game, I absolutely love the TR series so far.

 

Ryse and DR 3 are coming to PC.

 

There's a new Silent Hill coming as exclusive to PS4 as well, directed by Hideous Kojamas and Guillermo del Toro. Not Xbox news but it's a big enough deal to post about in here I think.

 

Thing is that silent hill game is being developed by a sony in house development team not a 3rd party dev like CD

 

It's being made by Kojima Productions, who are also making MGSV for Xbox one.

At least I think it is.
