    Rise of the Tomb Raider crashes at load up screen after applying controller update


    Strange one. Plugged in the stereo headset adaptor into controller.

    Xbox one told me I needed to update the controller in order to use the headset adaptor. So I apply the update.

    Go to try my favourite game,e, Rise of the Tomb Raider and every time it now crashes with humming after getting to the stats screen (60%through) etc.

    Tried many things to try and rectify.

    Turned off powered off console.

    Logged out and back in on sons profile (incase my save file ***)

    Deleted my save file on the console, and it redownloaded from the cloud.

    Deleted the game from the console and reinstalled

    Restored xbox (kept previous apps and data)

    Nothing I have tried has helped. If I re,ever rightly, when I got to that bit before the controller used to rumble. Well now the TV just hums at me.

    Sometimes the console restarts itself after this.

    Anyway I can undo the update to the controller?

    I did take a video of the fault.. Not sure if one can post it on this forum.

    Download game not loading after picture??

    Store download of rise of the tomb raider not working after displaying the picture goes to blank screen.

    Halo 5, Rise of the Tomb Raider do nothing but crash

    So I bought the Xbox One x, unplugged my external HD and plugged it into the X and tried to fire up Halo 5 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. Both of these games updates within the last week and on the X, they do nothing but dashboard.

    Halo 5 gets as far as Microsoft Studios Splash screen, then screen goes black for like 2 seconds and dashboards.

    Rise of the Tomb Raider, loads up the splash screen for about a minute then dashboards.

    So far out of 251 games, these are the only two that do this. Question is why!!

    Update:

    It appears Rise of the Tomb Raider will have some sort of competitive play after all, although it's not clear what form this will take.

    "Crystal Dynamics are hard at work on Rise of the Tomb Raider and excited to deliver an amazing experience on Nov. 10 (US, 13, Nov. UK)," a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement.

    "In the coming weeks and months, stay tuned for more info on all things Rise of the Tomb Raider - including how players will be able to extend their single-player campaign and compete with their friends."

    So what could this relate to? Co-op or some sort of special leaderboard mode? We'll no doubt find out soon.
