Rise of Nations Extended Edition game crashes when using the chat

Hi,

I bought the Rise of Nations: Extended Edition on Xbox store in April 2021 and it was running fine for a few weeks but since the last few days, whenever I start a new game and try to type something in the chat bar, the game crashes and closes off. I have tried uninstalling it and re-installing it but the error persists. This is also happening on another laptop on which I ran the app with the same account so its not a problem with my laptop. As I use cheats to improve my game, this error also prevents me from using them. Could someone please help?

Used on windows 10 laptop that fulfills all the requirements for the game to run smoothly.

However, I tried all of these troubleshooting methods yet the game still crashes due the error I mentioned above. Any other suggestions?

I am having the same problem. I already tried many things, but nothing works. I have send a email to bighuge games. if they can help me.

i already have rise of nations extended edition. that is not even the game i try to get help with. rise of legends is a different game. no matter how many times you claim them to be the same, it does not make it correct. you are still just as wrong in your statement. let us stop discussing rise of nations 1(rise of nation extended edition) and instead focus on rise of nations 2(rise of legends). i have been doing some testing. what i found is that the game struggles with maintaining connection when 2 different systems is used. windows 7 and 10 or windows 7 and 8.1 or windows 8.1 and 10. it works when both pcs run the same system.

You may still continue to play the game Rise of Nations Rise of Legends. However, based on our resources, this game reached end of life where game functionality and features is not always guaranteed.

Should you need to play multiplayer mode of the game with your friends you may try the updated version - Buy Rise of Nations: Extended Edition | Xbox.
