Rise Of Iron

Having forgotten to preorder the new expansion for Destiny, I assumed it would be as simple as waiting for the release time and just purchasing it. You can imagine my dismay when I discovered that you can't buy the standalone expansion as apparently its
only sold as part of a bundle. The preorder version obviously is unavailable.

Having played Destiny since its release, and every expansion since then. I cannot believe that this has been purposefully done. I refuse to spend £50 on a bundle when I own everything else but the new expansion.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? I have asked a friend who has Destiny and the other expansions to test its availability and again he is met with the same issues.

I'm looking for a work around or a sensible suggestion.

Can't buy Destiny: The Rise of Iron

Im having the same problem.. I went to gamestop and bought Rise of iron for $30 and instead of getting rise of iron it gave me $30...??

 

I'm in the same boat, except I tried to squeeze into the preordering at the last second yesterday. Going through Gamestop online, they sent me a digital code for a $30 Microsoft card to put on my account, and imagine my confusion. Bungie seems to be taking
a difficult route this time. I just found this gem on a reddit forum though, and I'm not able to test it yet (not with my Xbox currently), so hopefully it helps.

"I had to add $10 bux to my microsoft account to cover taxes.. I went into the game... destination... clicked on the yellow "Rise of Iron" icon beside the Tower.. and chose MORE INFO. I then was able to choose the "purchase" option and buy the pre-order
through microsoft at $29.99+taxes. I just received an email confirming my pre-order. After I got the email.. i was able to go into "My Game and App" go to Destiny and was able to install the new expansion and pre-order bonus pack. I hope this helps.

next time i'll just pre-order through xbox if its a digital download only.. all gamestop did was give us a $30 giftcard from pre-ordering online..."

It really seems to me that Bungie is doing everything they can to annoy Xbox owners.

First off they hold content back for a year when Destiny first got released, then they pull the same trick with the first two add-ons.

Then, Bungie changed the release date for the Taken King exclusive content at the last second, it originally said it would be released roughly fall 2016, now its fall 2017.

So that means that the PS4 owners out there have way more content for a game that we pay the same price. I don't mind exclusive content for a month, even six months. BUT 2 YEARS?

I like Destiny, great game, but Bungie aren't getting any more of my money.

component - but, had to rebut the entire collection to get it!! We believe that this is a BUNGIE issue and the work of a greedy company!! We have read other forums and there are a lot of ticked off people out there about this. Who wants to buy the entire

I Tried to do that exact same thing but ti somehow cannot connect to the Xbox store to buy it. I tried contacting Bungie, Xbox and even Activision but i yielded no results. how do i fix this?

 

@Gecogirl186 You can actually buy the'Rise of Iron' Add-on seperately, you just have to do it whilst you're actually playing the game. When you're on the planets menu, press the small yellow icon for the rise of iron content.

I think you have to let it play the little cinematic preview first and THEN it will let you buy the add-on, on it's own (for £24.99)
