I've only had this Xbox for a few months now.they took 9.99 out of my account for the first month of live in October.by the time it was November,I had bought a three month live card from Walmart,now here it is only January and my account is suspended because
some how I owe 9.99 past due..wtf

Thanks for posting this....one of my friends sent me a link for something related to xbl and when I went there it looked pretty official and asked for my gamertag and password. I didn't enter it, but I can see how a lot of people could easily fall for it.

It isn't the 3rd party app that scammed you. It's that you have an account on EA's servers from playing Fifa 12, and it has the same ID & password as your WLID/password. EA's servers have been compromised, and that is how they got your account details.


Have EA ever offered apologies for this? It's been very hush-hush from their camp.

 

What sounds like happened is this.

These dates are just for my example not necessarily your dates.

Purchased 1 month October 5th- so subscription would renew November 5th if you did not turn the auto renew off. Keep in mind if you purchase a live subscription with a credit or debit card and not a pre paid card that you purchase from a retail store it
will turn the auto renew on automatically for that subscription. The only way for subscriptions auto renew to not turn on would be to use a prepaid card from retailor.

So say on November 6th you put in the 3 month prepaid card onto your account the thing is the subscription renewed on November 5th to run through December 5th so that three month card would then start on December 5th and run through march 5th and if for
some reason Microsoft could not get the payment for the subscription that started November 5th they would then suspend the subscription and say that you owe the 9.99 for the subscription.
