    Rip cd's?


    Does anyone else believe Xbox should introduce a feature to go back to the "good old days" where people could rip cds, and burn songs on to their hard drives to be played in the background while doing something else?. I remember when I use to play fifa,
    (as an example) with my own songs on in the background instead of the ****** ones ea provided, and boy do I miss those days.

    P.s sorry if this is worded badly.

    XBOX 360 won't read Cool Colors black CD, but will read yellow CD

    Erm......................................no

    Sorry to burst your bubble but I never used it, and I'm pretty sure Microsoft looked at the stats and found very few people did (doesn't mean it wasn't used, just a small percentage of the overall users)

    There is a system that allows you to listen to music though, cant remember where it is or what its called (like I said I never use it) have a search on Google and I'm sure you'll find something.

    I do have to wonder why it was removed.

    The addition of blu-ray was nice but in many ways the Xbox One seems like a step back in media consumption. I have video files that the Xbox 360 plays perfectly but the Xbox One won't even open. I can listen to music on the 360 wherever I want but the One
    restricts that ability.

    I'm not sure the addition of blu-ray movie playback was enough of a compensation for what has been taken away.

    Yes it needs to rip cds. Then the cd can be put away. Everyone that rips cds does not illegally share them.

    1. With the Zune software open, put an audio CD into your CD drive. When the CD icon appears, click it to display a list of songs.



    2. Clear the check box next to any song that you don't want to rip.



    3. Click Start rip.



    If you put CDs into multiple CD drives on your computer, the additional CDs appear in the upper-left corner of the CD view. Click the CD you want to rip.



    Adjusting audio quality for ripped music



    You can adjust the compression quality used during ripping to balance between quality and file size. If you're not sure which settings to use, try ripping with different formats and bit rates, and then play the files. To do this:



    1. From your Zune software, click Settings at the top of your screen, click Software in the upper-left corner of the screen, and then click Rip in the list at the left.



    2. Make your selections on the Audio format and Audio quality menus.

    you cannot rip from a flash drive. You must rip it from a cd. make sure that you format it as a audio cd.

    You can still rip CD's

    Are you trying to rip a CD you bought or a CD you burned on the PC?

    There are a few store bought CD's that will prevent any type of ripping...but i've only came across 1 before.

    If you are using a CD you burned, did you burn this as an Audio Disc or as a Data Disc?

    Data Disc will never work...so if you filled a disc with 700mb of MP3's, you wont be able to rip it. If you created a 70-80 minute audio disc, you should have no issues ripping.

    I recently ripped 6 albums to my XBOX and they were all store bought albums but I did rip a few to a CD-RW because I dont like how the bonus tracks from a disc 2 will not be grouped to the original album.

    Hey Cmack! Are you trying to rip an original CD, or a burned CD? I only ask, because most original CD's contain what is called DRM (Digital Rights Management) that prevents you from ripping it.
