Right trigger

If the controller is still under guarantee and has has not been dropped or damaged you could send it for repair.

If not under guarantee you can request and exchange/repair of your current controller but the price difference between this and a new controller you could just purchase a new one and keep this one for a spare or when you have friends around.

If the controller is a few years old and you use is a lot, you might have to get another one.

I used to have two controllers and switch between them every few days so they wouldn't wear out as fast. It's also good to have a spare controller in case a friend wants to play.

I always find an alcohol wipe and a can of compressed air work a treat when this happens to me or my friends. With the can of air i compress it and uncompress the trigger as you use it.

The wipes I wipe round the sides of the trigger as that's where dirt and grease get inside, compress the trigger a few times then do it again.

I've seen videos of people using cotton wool buds while the trigger is compressed to do this as well

Sorry to hear your RT button is going out, that is a sign of good use, and a lot of game play! Generally when this happens, I call it nerfing because the button is no longer crisp and feels soft. Yes there are ways to take your controller apart and "attempt"
to fix it, although I highly suggest not doing this. I must reiterate, in no way shape or form do we suggest self repair on your devices. Personally, that is when I know it's time for a new controller.

I purchased a new controller about 4 months ago, and it was the sport blue series with rubberized textured grip. It was on sale in the Microsoft store, and was the cheapest controller in there.
