Right thumbstick clicking sound

I had problems with my elite controller in under a month where the left stick would click when pushed down and then forward. Like I pulled the cap up into position when pushed forward. It was annoying and distracting during gameplay so I sent it in and got
a replacement. I opened the brand new one (which arrived *** poorly packaged) and immediately checkd out the sticks of course. My problem was gone, but now on the right stick, if I move it all the way forward in the upper right corner past a certain spot,
it makes a clicking sound. It is only there and it is loud enough to be heard. I am link a video of it here:

Now there are several who had this problem which I have seen on youtube. One guy mentioned that it is a excessive piece of tape that the stick bumps into, and that he only opened it up and remved the excess part, but I don't wanna go around messing with
this. This is AN ELITE CONTROLLER. Should't "normal" controller problems like this be non existant when you pay twice the amount of a normal controller? I got this one to avoid stupid noises and stuff like this. I had a 360 controller before and the trigger
squeaked like crazy, the sticks drifted and the dpad was iffy, but that was a normal controller and I accepted that. I don't know if I can do that with an elite I spent so much money on.

Now, if someone could confirm to me that it is only a piece tape that causes it and there is nothing techincally wrong with my controller I might forget about it, but I worry that in a month it will escalte. If no one can confirm it I will just have to get
another replacement.

Xbox One Elite Controller problem?

I just picked up the Elite Controller, and I noticed something. When moving the right thumbstick to the top left or bottom left direction, I get a clicking noise. It actually sounds like a mouse click.

Is this clicking sound something I should be worried about? Or is it simply a noise that won't hurt anything?

 

Personally, I would not open it up. If it is still under warranty I would return it. Let us know how it goes.

 

I won't open it to risk the warranty. It's just at this point I am starting to wonder if I am oversensitive to these things or just unlucky. Almost every controller I owned has had a problem like this of some sort.

 

Talked with Microsoft and they said to just return it for a new one. Let's hope that this time I won't get any of these unecessary issues.

 

You would think that buying an expensive controller means better quality, but you are wrong. I bought a elite controller and recieved it on launch day, and nothing on it worked correctly, the bumpers were shot, the dpad was unresponsive and the triggers
rubbed against something, and microsoft won't acknowledge the horrible build quality of not only the elite, but also the stock controllers too.

 

I am getting a new replacement now, but if that one still has some "normal" defects I am just leaving it be and buying a third party controller like Scuf or something.
