RGB colors from 0-255 to 0-1000

This is a big step up from anything I've seen before.

How do people put on certain colors they like on their characters in multiplayer?

    For example-

a navy blue in color code (12,35,64)

and a sorta gold color in color code (201,151,0)

    Any ideas?

    :)

4K 30bits and 36 bits combined with full-rgb output broken.

On the Xbox One S when selecting 4K output with either 30bits or 36bits and the pc RGB colour space (full-RGB 0-255). It'll actually output at the standard colour space (limited-RGB 16-235), despite the menu claiming 4K+30bits+pc RGB.

When using 4K with 24bits colour per pixel and pc-RGB it'll output at those settings.

    Expected:

    4K + 24bits + pc RGB: 0-255

    4K + 30 bits + pc RGB: 0-255

    4K + 36bits + pc RGB: 0-255

    Reality:

    4K + 24bits + pc RGB: 0-255

    4K + 30 bits + pc RGB: 16-235

    4K + 36bits + pc RGB: 16-235

Changing HDMI color space from RGB to YCbCr206 causes input lag, please help

Try enabling/disabling AMA? Fiddle with dynamic contrast? Change the HDMI RGB PC Range from 0-255 to 16-235?

What is the difference between 4K and HDR?

4K is the resolution; think like 720p or 1080p. It's 4 times the area of 1080p.

HDR is a color reproduction technology. If you remember Game Boy days, the Color could produce few hundred different colors (16^3 colors total). Most TVs up until now encoded the colors into 3 values known as RGB (a combination of 0-255 each; so 255^3).
HDR expands that range by allowing 10 or even 12 bit encodings. The way it ties with the RGB values is via binary, 255 decimal is 1111 1111 in base-2 also known as binary, which is why it's called 8-bit encoding. A bit can only be 1 or 0. So if R G and B can
have 255 red, green, and blue values which is 255^3 combinations, HDR10 can do 1023 values for each, HDR12 can do 4095. These colors are both intermediates between the colors already being reproduced by your TV but also "deeper" reds, greens, and blues your
    TV couldn't render before.

    Hope that helps!

    Xbox Series X with monitor.

My man. I was in the same position. My sanity was saved with this, hopefully 200IQ observation:

If you use PC RGB on Xbox, then leave the black level normal on the G7 (normal is 0 to 255).

You adjust brightness, black equaliser and contrast to suit your taste. Enjoy that.

PC RGB immediately clips (black is black, white is white) the signal. The closed eye is 0, on the 0-255. You'll never see it. Same with the sun, it's 255, it's white, it's just gone because the white background is 255 too.

"Just disappears" means each click gets closer, the 1 more click, whoosh, it "just disappeared."

Display Calibration and RGB, black levels

The naming of "Limited" and "Full" is a poor choice but it was taken directly from the HDMI spec. Both RGB Limited and RGB Full output the full range from 0-255. The difference is RGB limited has "reference" black at 16 and "reference" white at 235. The
values below 16 and above 235 are still present. In fact, 254 is considered "peak" white in RGB Limited. The area between reference and peak white is for specular highlights. RGB Full has "reference" black at 0 and "reference" white at 255. There is no concept
of peak white. There is no room saved for specular highlights in RGB Full.

As AVwriter mentions, this is content specific.

Don't use 1024 * 768. You're plasma uses rectangular pixels. Send 720p. As for color use RGB expanded and set HDMI Black level on the Samsung to low or is it noam? I forgot which is which lol. I think normal is 0-255 but I'm not 100% sure
