Rewards Points decreased after August 2021 bonus

Has anyone ever had their Rewards points total decrease instead of increase? I may be mistaken, of course, (owing to eye-fatigue?) but on 5 August I appeared to see my Rewards total on my X Box S Console first go down by 2000 then up again by 2000 immediately after gaining my Top Ten X Box achievement and completing the August 2021 punch card. Checked with MSN and they said my current total is correct (87,500); but, in my view it should have been 89,500. I believe this because I had been thinking for the previous few days that the 2000 bonus would bring me to nearly 90K. My total points earned for the month of August was then 4086. MSN Support (Rewards) advised clearing my cache in Microsoft Edge, etc, which I did, yesterday. Also, cleared my browsing history for 7 Days. No change (other than Edge unpinning from my taskbar!?). I have no way of checking what my total Rewards points were as of July 31st, 2021. I am not in Game Pass currently. Any ideas? By the way, possible glitches is that the achievement I gained in the X Box 360 Skyrim registered in the daily achievement punch card (50 points) this week, but not in the Top Ten Punch card. I raised this with MSN Support in the same query but this was not addressed in its response. Also, at some stage when signing in again after clearing the cache 'Profile 1' flashed up. Does this numbering suggest there is a Profile 2 lurking somewhere? I have read in other 'Rewards' discussions that a few members had a ghost profile where points were being hived off to.

Im not to keen on the points for "almost". Evryone on the flag gets the reward for being there when it's capped. A bonus for being first on the flag and then the cap would be cool. A perk that decreases that time necessary to cap would be an interesting
addition and would get me to play more more HQ and DOM again. Tough modes to play when everyone else is playing TDM.

Fall of Reach

I read the rewards program ends in august and starts up again on september 1st. as for if the ms points that are rewarded through a xbox live gold card or any other current xbox rewards program, It says little to nothing. Only ms point will no longer be
rewarded but there will be other new offers/rewards(after it switches).

The 2 year sign in policy didn't start until August 2019 so the account would not of been deleted yet.The earliest for that to happen would be Aug 31st 2021.
