There's a Silver Knight and a Black Knight shield that are random drops off of the guys they're named after. Farming the Silver Knights in Anor Londo should get you the shield relatively quickly if you use the ring that boosts your item find. It really is
the best medium shield for pure blocking purposes. At +5 it ranks up there in stability with the non-upgraded great shields. Not to mention it only has a weight of 5.0, which leaves plenty of weight capacity for your other gear.

I use occult Halberd so I try not to get into situations where I need to use my shield much. But if I do, Grass Crest does the job. Anyone know a good 100% physical non-great-shield? Best one I have is Silver Knight Shield.

Just so you know, the symbol of avarice and the covetous gold serpent ring don't stack. At least it doesn't on the stats page. I'm pretty sure the max item discovery is 410. (10 humanity in your meter and CGS or SoA). Maybe they do if you don't have
any humanity in your meter, I haven't checked. The symbol of avarice is really only good if you want extra souls while you're trying to get items to drop.

But it does stack with the Silver Serpent Ring. If you kill a certain princess, then you can open up a 42,000+ souls per minute farming run on NG+. Roughly 2.5 million souls within an hour if you get the timing down. About three quarters of a million
on standard game.

Where are you trying to farm them? Anor Londo? They drop often there for me.
