Reverse of an suspicious activity

If your old Gamertag was in violation of the
Xbox Community Standards / Terms of Use (for example, if you used the name of a notorious person, or Gamertag included an inappropriate play on words or something else that other people might have found offensive),
then the Xbox Live Policy Enforcement Team might have issued a forced Gamertag change.

You might want to check
https://enforcement.xbox.com if there was such an Enforcement Action.

If that was the case, you can't get your old Gamertag back, as it violated the Xbox Community Standards.

If you suspect someone else was signed in on your account, check if you gave away your account information to someone else (for example you engaged in Game Sharing and violated the Terms of Use by giving your account information to your / a friend, who then
"pranked" you by changing your Gamertag.

If that was the case, you would have to secure your account by changing the password at

https://account.live.com/Proofs/Manage and make your account more hacking proof by adding Two Step Verification, and to NEVER give anyone but yourself access to your account.

If someone else changed the Gamertag on your compromised account, you would have to pay to change back to your old Gamertag (if it's still available).

A good friend came down this last weekend taking turns on ps4 all night did not port anything everthing is ported for xbox one we have been xbox supporters for years he was shock by the how much better advance warfare was on ps4 solid ping all night supply

No ones been sold out,not sure where you get that from.Nothing wrong with xbox live.If you are suffering from connection issues or lag then the problem is at your end.

There are just as many exploiters etc on PSN .

Start i read his post i agree im not out collecting gamer tags alot more suspicious activity floating guys spawn right on top of you ping changing not cause my connection due to lobby host or xboxlive after speaking digging that could be ghe only thing
most likely host are unethically hosting explains countless network issue people constantly search
