Returning Xbox One X for repairs. Why so hard and expensive?

I am trying to return my One X for repairs. I have been unable to complete the transaction online. My products are registered, I'm logged in to my account. I've exhausted the troubleshooting steps for E101, E102 and am ready for this to be repaired.
I followed all the service/return steps and when I get to the payment and review stage, it loops back to sign into your account. There are no chat or phone call options. I've spent more than an hour trying to return a less than 2 year old console to be repaired
for $250 +shipping (need it fast to appease the kid so he can "see" his friends) + tax so over $280 for this. AND I CAN'T GIVE YOU MY MONEY to get this done.

This seems very Apple-like. Make it impossible or expensive to repair right when a new console is coming out.

This is my 5th Xbox (most, if not all the generations). This may well be my last. I have loved the platform but this is BEYOND frustrating. Checking out Playstations, in case this doesn't get resolved.

Anyone have a suggestion?

Hello sorry its been an issue with repair. This is the standard price for any console that is lout of warranty!!! If page keeps loops try from a different web browser and see if that helps you out any. As far as repair time that would be unknow. To say
you would get the console back in 2 weeks would be a lie. With everything going on in the world its no telling when the console would be repaired or how fast it would be returned.

Ok, thanks you, i dont think i will repair it because homemade is too hard and from engineers is to much expensive, i think i will buy the new series x when it comes out, thanks you so much for the help

Everyone who registered likes the idea about memory are millennials. It has its pros and cons to have one more accessory.

But an accessory represents being exclusive and being exclusive is being expensive.

A 1tb ssd laptop hard drive is expensive, a removable disk is much more expensive.

Having an exclusive xbox accessory will be very expensive. The weight in gb of the games in the xbox x series console will need a lot of space.

In the end it will only be one more accessory so that Microsoft has more money

The launch Xbox is are no longer repaired and haven't been for several years, they're a decade old

I'm afraid I can't help you with self repair, but you could purchase an Xbox one S Or an Xbox series X and enjoy all of your disc based games. Even if repair was an option, picking up a one S would likely be less expensive

Depending on where you purchase your games from they can indeed be very expensive, there are some online game discount shops you can check instead of your local gameshops like Gamemania which tends to try and put out the maximum price they can.

You can try alternatives like Amazon , Ebay or one that I personally use aswell GameDumper.nl which currently has The Witcher 3 Premium edition (for pre order) for roughly 55€. But you can do some research online for other websites which ship games. Just
make sure to do some thorough investigation to make sure they are safe websites to purchase from.
