Returning to home screen issue

Hello, hopefully someone can help me or maybe have experienced the same issue. So i use my Xbox quite a bit and i use the home button quite often. I use it quite a few times a day. Although, every now and then, maybe once or twice a day I experience a very
dramatic delay. At first when I push the home button the screen blinks as if it tried to go home but almost instantly returns me to what i was doing like it rejected itself from going home. Although everything still acts normal in the app, game, etc. If i
press home again, whatever im doing will freeze for about 10 seconds and then return home followed by a refresh sound and a reboot of the home page. Its been doing this for about one month now. I also recently upgraded to a Xbox slim. Hopefully someone can
help me with this issue. any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

I'm just now getting this issue as well, except for when returning to the home screen, the entire console freezes forcing me to hard reboot it.

Having trouble returning to Home screen.

Okay, it seems like my XBox missed an update somehow. I forced the update and now it seems to be fixed.

Try performing a hard reset on your console EXACTLY like this.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test
the results.

Hello. I definitely appreciate the help but i ended up sending my console in to get repaired and they sent me a brand new console. Unfortunately the problem still persists. I have no clue what to do. At this point ive tried everything...as far as i know.

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Xbox Forum support. I want you not to worry about the situation because I am here to help you out! I believe your console might need either a network reset or just a system refresh. I would like you to go through the following
steps to clear the Mac address and then perform a quick power cycle on your console:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

After going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned, I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 2 to 3 minutes, re-plug them back again, then restart your console.

Another thing you should check is your NAT type. I would like you to check your NAT type if open because that could sometimes interfere. to check for the NAT type you can follow the steps below:

Settings > Network Settings > NAT type => It should be open.

If the NAT type is not open, you will need to open some ports with your internet provider. These ports must be open for Xbox Live to work: Port 88 (UDP) Port 3074 (UDP and TCP) Port 53 (UDP and TCP) Port 80 (TCP) Port 500 (UDP) Port 3544 (UDP) Port 4500
(UDP).

In case the issue still persists, the next step would be to perform a reset on the console. To do so you will need to follow the steps below to perform a reset on the Xbox :

Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you
to sign in to the account.

I also have the same issue, loading screen appears for 20 to 30 seconds and just returns to the xbox home screen

Thats probably for the best that it is nearly new, as you should be able to get it replaced free of charge
