Returning an Xbox One. Game saves.

If I exchange my Xbox One for a new one because it's not reading discs anymore will I lose my game saves.

I'm half way through evil within and I don't want to have to rush finish it because of this...

Mass Effect: Error Importing Xbox One Save to Xbox 360

Hi,

I am playing Mass Effect on Xbox One via Backwards Compatibility. I want to use my Xbox One save on the Xbox 360 so that I can get the "End Game" save and import that into Mass Effect 2.

When I choose "Cloud Storage" on the Xbox 360 I can see the Career from my save, but no actual saves. When I choose "Resume" I get the error: "Cannot find previous Save Game to resume. Returning to Main Menu"

If I go back to the Xbox One, I can resume just fine.

Save deleted

quitting the game without returning fully to the main menu will effect your game save.

back up your saves on a usb or cloud.

your savegames on xbox one are all stored in xbox cloud, so if you sign in to any xbox one you will have your savegames there.

If your console is no longer reading discs try the following:

1. Head to Settings>Disc & Blu Ray

2. Uncheck Enable BD Live

3. Click on Clear Persistent Storage 3 times

4. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down.

If that doesn't work then you're certainly welcome to return it back to the store who should accept it for an exchange if it was purchased recently. But remember that you still also have a warranty on the console and can send it in for a repair.

You'll need to copy/move your game saves from Xbox 360 to the
Xbox 360 Cloud-Based Saves. To do this, you must have an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Go to Settings -> System -> Storage -> Hard Drive -> [Name of Game] and select it. You should see game saves there. Select the one you wish to move and choose to move
it to Xbox 360 Cloud-Based Saves.

Next, launch the back-compatible game on Xbox One. When you start the game, it will prompt you for a save location; choose Cloud-Based Saves and it should bring in the file you moved to the cloud, letting you pick up where you left off. The save will be
updated when you finish on Xbox One, allowing you to return to Xbox 360 and continue again, or just keep playing on Xbox One.

I agree with Arkham99 on this one, quitting to the dash before returning to the start screen was the cause of the save problems on the first two games,this one could be the same.

No one can send you your save. It sits on an encrypted server, and the save file is not of any use to you except for playing the Windows Store version of the game. As the game and the save are encrypted, mods are also not an option.

You can purchase the game to access it, but that's it unless it returns to Game Pass
