    Alright so,

    I bought a friend of mine Borderlands on Christmas as a gift to her, she couldn't redeem it though because she lives in another region. She ended up just buying it herself since the code wouldn't let her redeem it. But now I can't return the gift for a refund.
    I follow all the steps on the site, and it always takes me to order history, the only options I have there for the one I gifted are to print it. Nothing else. I've tried reaching out to Microsoft support but haven't got anything back. It's under 14 days, and
    the code hasn't been redeemed (again it literally won't let her.)

    If the refund is approved, it will return to the gift card that was used.

    Why can't I get a refund on a game I or the receiver can't play?

    There should be a way around it. What is consent for then. If you can consent to let companies collect data why can't you consent to a return? You receive a gift you can return the gift at a store. But I do understand that it was stated there should be exceptions.
