Returning a defective Xbox one x at a Microsoft store

When i turned the console on, it highlighted the whole top of the home menu and then the grey highlight went away on its own after a little while. Then when i used a code that i got for a game, the console seemed to suggest other codes in the suggestion
box.

Have you tried any troubleshooting like a power cycle/reset
of the console or even a ‘soft’ reset of your console to factory defaults
? A ‘soft’ reset to factory default is where you choose the option to Reset and keep my games & apps.

If you have not tried these, it is worth doing as think of a modern day console working like a PC. Every now and then they need to reset to perform optimally.

Go in and talk to them . It all depends on the warranty. If it's under warranty of coarse they will . This is Microsoft there generous

You could try taking it apart and giving it a clean out from dust but that would obviously void your warrenty

DO NOT do this, as it will invalidate your warranty and Microsoft will not offer any repair/servicing on the Xbox if required in the future.

If you have a store within a reasonable distance, give it a try. As I am based in the UK, I am not sure how best to get through to the store in your region via phone. Sorry :-(

So best buy messed up my order by scanning the wrong console and they refuse to fix the problem. So i walked out of the store having paid for the wrong xbox. And that xbox has problems and bb told me to take it up with microsoft.

is there a reason you cannot return this console to the original retailer?
