    My Xbox One S stopped turning on a few months ago... I opened a ticket, it took me a while to get it printed and shipped, however the "live support" agent who was clearly a robot assured me that my Xbox would be received and serviced as it was within the
    1 year warranty.... I got my Xbox back today with a lovely note that said it was not repaired as it was tampered with and excluded from warranty service.... What the hell? I followed support steps online, created my ticket, and used a paper clip to eject
    the DVD that was inside... Not only did my Xbox not even last ONE year, when it stops working I get it shipped back accusing me of tampering with it and its not repaired.... Thanks Microsoft, I appreciate the level of service you have provided me... I cannot
    believe this garbage. This is the worst service I have ever received from a company... Tampered with.....

    Can i get my xbox fixed after update

    Seeing as how you've used an outside source (3rd party) to fix a previous issue with your xbox, I doubt that they will take it in to fix it even if you pay for it. I have seen far too many threads by people upset that their systems were returned due to
    tampering.

    Hi, there is little recourse I'm afraid. If the repair centre have deemed the Xbox tampered with then that's pretty much it.

    However it does make me wonder why they would send a system back in that condition, why would they even open the Xbox up, I have some theories on this as for some reason many day one owners have had similar issues as you.

    From day one systems were sent out with missing side plates etc as I know from experience. does this indicate that the manufacturing process is at fault, is it possible that internal warranty seals were left off which then leaves you in this position of
    being accused of tampering when you didn't ?

    I'm in no position to verify any of this but it does stink, I have seen cases where the warranty/serial number sticker on the bottom of the Xbox has becomes so badly scratched that the serial number is illegible and the Xbox has been returned unrepaired
    with the same letter you had enclosed.

    It's all guess work of course on my part but something isn't right when so many people have their systems returned due to tampering and they claim they didn't tamper with the Xbox at all.

    I don't know what to advise from this point on, as the repair centre have now deemed the Xbox tampered you're kind of up the creek without a paddle.

    This forum is unmonitored by Microsoft in any official capacity, unfortunately the only thing you are going to be able to do is get in contact with phone Support for your region and plead your case. Though since the console has already been marked as tampered
    with, your chances of success are going to be zero.

    You could try a third party repair but that just puts you at risk of getting not only the console banned but also any accounts on it.

    The only other thing to suggest, since the console is under 12 months old, is returning it to the store you bought it from for a replacement. The place you bought it from should always be your first point of call.

    bet you never heard of this problem xbox users!

    1-Don't buy second hand.



    2-If the console has been tampered with in any way then calling support would be a waste of time (tampered consoles are sent back unrepaired)



    3-The Call of Duty games that require a
    physical hdd, due to the theater mode feature, would be Black Ops and MW3. All the other previous titles would play just fine otherwise. (The slim 4G only has a Flash Memory hdd)

    Nothing you can do except buy a new one. No one can discuss self repair here with you. And sincr you opened it you violated the warranty and repair terms. So even if you send it in for repair they will just send it right back unrepaired with a letter saying
    it was tampered with.

    Microsoft wont touch a tampered console with a ten inch pole

    steeledwand7664 is correct. Now that you have opened up the console you wont be able to get it repaired through Microsoft even for a fee.

    They will just send it back to you unrepaired with a note saying they wont repair it since its been tampered with by someone other than Microsoft.
