Return a xbox controller ?

Hello !

I would like to return the xbox one controller that I bought a few weeks ago but I am a little bit confused :

I bought this xbox controller separately from my xbox console and on the webpage "maintenance and repair" I am asked to choose the device that I'd like to be repaired.

Do I have to click on my xbox icon/link to register my xbox controller even if I bought it separately from my console or do I have to click on "register a new device" ?

If the good step is "register a new device", it would be great if someone could explain me (or send me a link of a webpage that explain) how to do because I am asked to write a xbox serial/series number and I do not see any place to write the controller
xbox serial numer instead of the xbox serial number.

Ok yeah that's kind of stupid ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And the virtual agent keep redirecting to the registering product page.

Maybe we could put this problem in highlight for microsoft to work on it.

Hello, what's the process to return a faulty controller ? I tried to register it on the

"device repair service" but I cannot because I've got letters in the serial Number, is it normal ?

My controller is a Sea of thieves edition I don't know if it matters,

Register your console and then I believe you should be able to set up a repair order for a controller under Accessories.
