  1. Retrieving Game Data

I have an Xbox 360 and am using a 500GB Seagate external harddrive to store game data. I needed the HD for another purpose so I copied the folder on the HD (named Xbox containing 34 items named Data0000 to Data0033). The HD was used and then I reconnected
to the Xbox, reconfigured the HD as per the Xbox instructions; I reconnected to the PC and replaced the new Xbox folder with the one I stored before and reconnected to the Xbox.

As you may have guessed, the saved games didn't reappear when I started the game (Oblivion: Elder Scrolls). Xbox support tell me I should have used the cloud.

Is there method for retrieving the saved games from the Xbox folder on my PC? Please be gentle and note that I am in no way au fait with gamer lingo.

    Thanks for any help!

    :)

Sorry to say but the answer is no.

Longer answer is that 360 storage is only designed to be moved between 360 storage device. By moving the data to your PC you've essentially wiped the 'ties' between it and the console.

  5. Thanks for the confirmation - I suspected as much. I suppose it's too much to expect interoperability between two MS machines for the non-expert!

^^ FYI -- I wouldn't use a 500 GB external for a 360, since the 360 will only utilize 32 GB of that data. I would just buy a flash drive and keep it connected.

  8. Retrieving Game Data

For the original Xbox there was a USB stick/PC programme that allowed you to copy & move game saves etc, from the console to PC and back again whenever you wanted. Can`t remember who made it though.

Shame they never did one for the 360.

You would just have to redownload the games. They should show in your Games and Apps as Ready to Install and you can redownload them from there.

    Hey there WebbedCandle!

Sorry for the confusion concerning your games and saved data.

Since you were using the Xbox One S online, all of your progress within your games would be saved to your gamertag on Xbox Live. The only thing that the hard drive saves most times is the game program itself but none of the progress.

To put it simply, as previously posted, you just need to redownload your games. If you're signed into the right account when you boot it up, you should be back where you started. For more information on how this works, you can always check out the information
    listed in
How to manage storage on Xbox One.

    Hope this info was helpful!

    Thanks and Peace!
