Retrieving data from internal hard drive

Please help. I recently had a house fire which destroyed my basement. My original xbox was damaged but internal HD is intact. After removal how and what would I need to transfer my data? Thank you in advance

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with retrieving data from internal hard drive. Unfortunately, we do not have any troubleshooting resources to help with the internal hard drives. If the console was connected to the internet, this
will enable cloud saves for games. In reference to any games downloaded, those will still be available under ready to install.

If the console can be brought online some how , you can also do a network transfer and basicly download everything to the new console , but thats a big if

your hardrive is only fixd to that console mate every xbox hardrive as its own code there linked to its os system so all on that hardrive is gone but xbox does back up your saves on cloud and your games if bought any dlc or digi games are stored on your
gamer tag so you realy dont lose anythink but have to go through the whole installing stuff process

Hey there Trevor!

Sorry to hear about what happened and about the confusion concerning transferring your data.

Now, if you have an original Xbox (like the OG one), then there is no way to move that HD to another console.

If you are using a 360 though, you should be able to load it in the same model of console you had, redownload your profile so everything sync's up alright and you'd be good after that. For more information on how to do that, you can check out our support

Lastly, that network transfer feature previously posted is great idea as well, if you have the Xbox One, as that's the only console able to do that. For steps on how to get that done, check out

The data transfer cable will not plug into the Halo hard drive. The transfer cable evidently cannot tranfer dater from a console with an internal hard drive to another console with an internal hard drive. I will have to transfer my data to an older external
hard drive, then transfer it to the Gears console. I just hope I do not lose any data.
