Retrieving 12 Year Old Gamertag, Need Help!

Hi! my current gamertag is: " Rules" this post might be a little lengthy, because i want to give as much information to help resolve my issue. I am posting this as a last resort, i was told by a customer service representative to post here about
my issue, so hopefully the enforcement team will help me. So here is my problem, I created my original xbox account 12 years ago, my gamertag was "", 6 years later i got the Xbox 360 and went to recover my account but i couldn't remember the password,
so that's when i created the account " Rules" (i have had this gamertag for 6 years and have never changed it once). i have talked to customer support to see if they could help resolve my issue of recovering my account, or releasing the gamertag, so
i can pay to change my gamertag back to my original tag, "" but they told me that the email has been deleted and there was no way to refresh the gamertag or recover because it is locked to the deleted email. That's when they told me to contact the
enforcement team, that you might be able to help. The gamertag means a lot to me. i am willing to provide any information towards the account, my name, address, date of birth, old phone numbers, emails etc. Please help me get my old gamertag or account back.
if it's not possible to get the account back but is possible to release the gamertag, so i can buy my gamertag back please contact me (before you release the gamertag, can you email me so no one else claims the gamertag) thank you so much! this would mean

Need help retrieving old 360 gamertag.

Wasn't sure where to post this but... I had an account that was last used in about 2007. How can I, or better, "can" I retrieve my old account/gamertag to use on windows 10? The email that would have been attached to the old account is now my current
account. Also, I can search for my old gamertag and find it. Shows all the games I played those many years ago. I want that gamertag back

Any help is much appreciated.

Enforcement cannot do anything for you. They only are there for suspensions and bans. You will need to call back to phone support for any help with this as no one on this forum can help you. You would need to prove with them with out any doubts that
you are the true owner of the account. They should be able to see it.

After a certain amount of time of inactivity, gamertags are released. Looks like someone already has Killer D So unfortunately you wouldn't be able to get your original gamertag back, As the user said above the enforcement team wouldn't get involved in
something like this,

Is there an actual place to look up gamertags on the xbox site?

 

You could try the search function at the top of this page but that would only give you tags that have been used on these forums.

There are so many services within the Microsoft family (external and internal) that it would be impossible for anyone outside of working for them to know if a tag was used or not.

 

You could try what Onxy suggested or you could also try searching
here.
