Retrieve Old Gamertag

Hello all.

I am trying to retrieve the old Gamertag that I used to use. I only know the Gamertag and do not remember the email address I may have used or the password. I know the last email that was attached but when i tried to enter it, it said does not except and
somehow it created a new account with that email address as well. I played a lot of games and made a lot of friends I would like to try and get back in touch with and play new games. Been about 4 years since I played on the Gamertag.

Any help would be awesome.

Try talk to xbox suport they problably csn help you . Good luck

Sorry to hear it. Please contact support at
https://support.xbox.com/contact-us for more assistance with this. So long as you can supply some accurate information for the account they may be able to give you the email. From there you would need to change the password for the account.

Hi There,

It may be impossible as my fellow Ambassador mentioned, someone may have it now? I had a similar issue where I lost my gametag, and you may have to get a new one, unfortunately (sad face). Contact Support and see what transpires, I hope you get it back

if the account was inactive for 5 years then the Gamertag would have been removed from the account and could be being used by someone else now.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. Unfortunately trying to recover an account becomes very difficult if only the Gamertag is known because the self

Microsoft Account recovery process requires you to input the account via email that you are trying to get back into. Without the email, you cannot submit an Account Recovery form.

Best thing to do to track down the email is to follow the support article, "Find your Microsoft account email address"
for tips on how to find the email you need to attempt the Account recovery form in order to reset the password.

If you still have the console you last used and signed in with this account, that would be the best way to find the email associated with the gamertag you are trying to recover.
