    Retrieve data from cloud for Xbox One S


    I had to wipe Xbox to send back to Microsoft because the disc drive was broken. All the advice online says that if you have a Live Gold membership (which I do) and you're connected to the internet that your game data is automatically backed up.

    I have an account on behalf of my children, who do the gaming. I do not.

    My Live account doesn't seem to reflect any data at all, though my children's accounts are linked to it.

    When Microsoft send me the new device, will it automatically be able to retrieve all the progress and games?

    I am struggling to get any clear advice on this.

    If you overwrite your cloud save data I don't think it would be possible to retrieve an old save from the cloud. sorry

    Well, you can't transfer from gamertag to gamertag, if thats what you want to do.

    A easy way to transfer files for any game is to transfer the data from the hard drive on Xbox 360 A to the cloud, as your cloud saves are just stored on the internet. Then, on Xbox 360 B you simply retrieve your gamertag and then transfer the data from you
    cloud to Xbox 360 B's hard drive. Then play!

    if your xbox one was connected to the internet then all your games and data have been saved in the cloud.

    please note you’ll have to reinstall every disc and digital copy of each game to retrieve the data.

    can take up to 3 hours per game.

    Transfer game saves through and external Hard drive.

    Hey Varrik296!

    At the moment, the only data you can transfer from the Xbox One console to an external hard drive are games and apps. As for cloud storage, when you play a game there will always be a copy stored locally on the console. As you retrieve saves from the cloud
    and continue playing, a local copy will also be created.

    Unfortunately it's not possible to retrieve lost data, once it has been overwritten on the cloud, the old data is completely lost.
