  1. Resuming Games from External HD

Ive noticed when i had games installed on my internal HD i could leave a game where I left it (pause menu) watch netflix for an hour or two or any other app and come back to the game and it would be where i left it.

With games installed on my external HD this doesn't seem to be the case after like 10-30 minutes ill go back to the game and it would start up again as if i just opened the game.

    Any ideas why ?

also what happened to resume game quickly ?

    Thanks in advance

    :)

    Resuming games not working

I'm having the same problem using an external drive and have tried everything. It only seems to be since the latest preview update that the issue has started for me, games were resuming fine from the external drive beforehand.

    Resuming Games from External HD

I don't have an external HD but the quick starting of games is one of THE BEST features on my X1, this is what I would miss most if it were to be removed... I'm easily pleased ha

  6. I can resume on my ext hdd. Try doing a hard reboot by holding the power button on the front of the console until it turns off then unplug it from the outlet for 30 sec then plug back in and power back on. Hopefully the issue will be resolved.

    Resuming Games from External HD

Bit off topic but, looking into external drives and I'm wondering are the portable drives ok to use? Is there any difference in speeds compared to a powered drive?

  9. no because there are powered 5400 rpm drives and some usb powered 5400 rpm drives the disk speed is what will make the difference go for 7200 rpm if you want the better speeds, SSD is the fastest but doesn't seem to be worth the money per GB as xbox one
uses sata 2 which makes ssd pointless unless u want 3-5 seconds sometimes less or even equal to a 7200rpm drive.

It doesn't really matter about the speed. The internal hdd is only 5,400rpm anyway. As long as its USB 3.0 your fine. Oh and plug it into the rear USB port.

  14. Good to know, OP (oh, that might get confusing). I just got a Seagate 2TB 3.0 USB and had no idea if it would work properly or as fast as some of these guys are saying.

Well I thought if I'm buying a drive it might as well be faster than the internal one now. Heard it can make game load a little quicker. Obviously sad would be nice but way too over priced at the mo
