Resume Games Quickly Problems

Anyone else been having problems with this feature recently? It used to work very well... after power downs, after taking the disc out to watch a blu ray... whenever. Now I'm playing The Evil Within and it works maybe 9 out of 10 times. Def not after a power
down. Very frustrating. I've contacted support via Twitter and while I appreciate how quickly they get back to you, they hardly ever offer any real solutions. I'm going to post about this on the support forum as well. Thanks.

Hey there JasonDeadly!

Sorry to hear about the resume issue. Is this issue only happening with The Evil Within? Just so that we start on the same page, let's start with a power cycle to clear the system cache, and then clear persistent storage. Follow the steps below to do both
of those!

To power cycle the Xbox One console:

• Press and hold the power button on the Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
  
• Once the unit is powered off, unplug the power cable from the Xbox One and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  
• Plug the power back into the unit and power the console on.

To clear persistent storage, follow these steps:

• Press the menu button on your Xbox One controller and select 'Settings'.
  
• In the Settings menu, select Disc & Blu-ray settings.
• From here, select Persistent storage and clear it.

Post back and let us know if the issue still occurs!

 

Hmmm..... the only information I can offer is that I recently played The Evil Within as well and it worked like a dream for me.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have the Oct and Nov updates? Maybe it's just my imagination, but it seemed to worked better before those. I was playing Shadow of Mordor before this and it worked great on that game. Yes... I also posted on the support forums.

As far as I'm aware instant resume has never worked if you power down or remove the disc.

 

Oh... resume games is all about the power down! power down in instant on mode that is. I love that about it! I'm frustrated I've been having so many problems lately.

 

Ah ok you mean power down with the console in Insta on mode? In that case yea it should work, mine works fine. Hope you get it sorted.
