resume a game

I've got an Xbox one X and for sometime now it will not let me jump back into to my game. Games always start me off at the title screen as if a disc has just been put in.

I buy almost all my game digitally and they are saved internally. I've also set my xbox to instant on.

anyone else having this issue?

Game resume no sound?

Been playing Tomb Raider, but everytime I turn the X1 off and on again to resume where I left off, I get no sound and have to quit the game and start from the menus again.

Is this working for everyone else, or is it a individual game fault?

Thought this was out of beta now?

I noticed this with Destiny too - although going back to the dash and then back to the game (i.e. game still running) seems to fix it

Paul from Xbox Forums Team here to assist with the issue, it looks like you want to have the games launch on start up where it left off originally. From my experience and what I've read through our support articles you can save your game progress and continue
your saved game files but, the games will not start up immediately where you left off. You will have to first get to the main menu of the game to continue where you left off. I hope this information was helpful in resolving the issue. If you require further

When you stop playing are you just going straight back to the dashboard? Does this happen when you're just switching between apps or something on the console or after you've shut the console down and turned it back on to play or both?

 

It happens anytime I go to an app or turn off the console. Inrun my cable box thrpugh my xbox as well and if i pause and switch to anything it starts me back as if the game wasnt already running.

I notice this as well, if you start another game, app or tv that one takes precedence so then the other goes back to title screen. Now if you just leave it and stop, and not go into any other game app or anything are you able to quick start that game? If
anything
Power cycle console see if that helps it out.

Hello Zero,

It's understood that there is an attempt being made to switch from game to app and then back to game.

Where you see games returning to the title screen would mainly be with any game that is connected online. Being in a lobby, or within any multiplayer section on a game will automatically idle out after not being on the application for some time.

In reference to Instant On, this would be a power mode that when turning off the console will bring the user back to the home screen of the console, not exactly where the user had left off the last time when the console was in use.

Its been happening consistently with shadow of the tomb raider as well as with the new assassins creed. Both of which aren’t online games.

 

This has always happened with me since I’m in the Insider Program and I can get at least one system update a week, causing a full reboot. Probably not your issue. I’ve also seen this happen consistently on some games and never on others.

 

It sounds to me like your games are behaving normally, from the information you have provided. Are you turning your console off, do you have your console set to turn off after x hours?
