Restoring Console to factory defaults not working

Hello Xbox Community,

You're my final hope. Here's what's happening:

1. My Xbox Series X failed to do a software update

2. It takes a really long time before I'm able to see anything on my screen when I turn the xbox on, takes about 10 minutes.

3. When I'm able to see something, it goes from the Software Update screen to the "Something went wrong" page

4. When I try to hold the Eject and Pair buttons on the front of the console, then turn the console on, I never hear the second chime. I believe this is due to the console attempting to do an update.

5. I tried the offline update and that did not work

6. When I try restoring factory defaults, I click A on both options but nothing happens.

7. I'm able to select any other option in the "Something went wrong" menu besides those two.

8. I tried to boot from USB using the "hold pair and eject" method from above and I never hear the second chime like I said.

My warranty just expired 2/6/2022 so I cannot send it in for a repair and there are no Microsoft store locations open. What can I do to solve this issue?

Hi!

Have you already tried to
restore the factory defaults? There appears to be a boot problem with the OS and a restore should make the console work again.

Okay, I restored the console to Factory defaults. After that downloaded RYSE again and now it works 😊
