Restore Xbox profile to original Microsoft account

    Restore Xbox profile to original Microsoft account


    I want to restore my main Xbox profile to main MS profile. Currently my main Xbox profile is on a dummy email. A little backstory how this whole mess started.

    I changed my main MS account password and it apparently exceeded the PW limit of 16-chars. When I logged into my Xbox months later I had a problem authenticating. I never got a prompt to create a secondary app password (nice going MS). As a solution I created a dummy MS account to move my Xbox profile to so that I was able to log in. A little while later I started having syncing issues with my email and discovered that it is possible to use two-form factor/alt app password to address the problem of Xbox and mobile devices not being able to handle that same PW requirement.

    The problem comes in when MS decided to auto-generated a new Xbox profile on my main MS account. I didn't ask for this. Why is this even a default feature? So I tried going about trying to delete it then change the email back but it wouldn't let me. I contacted Xbox and they were no help. Xbox gave me some number to call and that person was no help either. I had a hard time understanding her accent and she had a hard time understanding that I wasn't trying to do a swap but restore my original account. She just kept reading some script saying "We do not currently support Account Swapping but will at a later date." That's vague and unhelpful.

    My Xbox profile has all of my licensing and purchase history. That's what I want to keep associated with my main MS account. The auto-generated Xbox profile has some money on it but I don't really care about it. I can buy something physical with it or just throw the money away. It's not a big deal. Should I create a 3rd account (making matters worse) then move the auto-generated account there then move my Xbox profile back to my main? Is there some way I can force-delete the auto-generated Xbox profile the move my original one back? Is there someone higher up the foodchain I need to talk to so this get sorted out?

    add and remove     your Xbox account on your Xbox One and that should restore the license to your original Modern Warfare game.

    Microsoft is responsible for putting buttons in your Origins account page? o_O That doesn't sound right at all. At best, it's a mutual thing where both companies agree to turn around and walk away from each other. That said, though, I'm not sure what
    this "disconnection" means. Xbox makes no difference between your Xbox One and Xbox 360 profile. They're the same account, same profile. EA might make a distinction because of the two different consoles. But if you "disconnect" your Xbox One account from
    your Origin, does that mean EA will let you connect it to a different Origin account? I wouldn't think so. I would imagine it's just removing it from being actively listed on your Origin page, but it would simply be restored if any connection attempt was
    made from that Xbox profile. Bottom line, though, EA is responsible for maintaining any information they have about your Origin account, and any game statistics, progress, and profile information therein, and I can't imagine how Microsoft has any ability
    to edit what buttons are available in your Origins account page.
