Let the Max Exodus back to Xbox Commence!

Doesn't help that most people (including hobbyists) didn't even know what Wii U was (to date). They all get told its junk not worth the asking price with a gimmiky controller; neither of which was true.

Its markedly stronger than PS360 as Nintendo's first HD console, with the gamepad being more than just a controller; and not that much weaker than OG g8 boxes (except on paper). Has true multitasking, small fast installs (plays off disc), proper wireless infrastructure (not just 'support'), multiple render targets (it can render two different, simultaneous out put, from the same source), designed with asymmetric gaming in mind. Even without multiplats; the most games, the first 1080p@60 games, still the most exclusives that are also the most highly rated games of the gen.

Honestly, I'm forever gonna be baffled by why the resolutiongate debate and 'voice chat', became a bigger deal; over a console thats doing things gamers have been screaming out for, since g5! We'll never see its like again.

However, support and many of its features, lay dormant and unproven, sheerly due to public reception (even by Nintendo). Including simple things like replacement GP's or updated SKU's. Dual GP support has no noticeable impact on games performance. Platform online infrastructure, doesn't include party chat (not written into the OS) but does have PiP 'video chat' (like skype). So it may not have been working towards the 'single' highest render target, but made better 'use' of available graphics function, than any console to date. Purchases were tied to platform UID for ages, but it had ext HDD support from day one (runtime lib off fast disc).

Nintendo didn't supply devs with tools for it and with two other platforms that did, it made a huge difference on what devs could do in a time vacuum of release schedules. One of the services the company I work for provides; is to 'port' between platforms for other companies and every platform. Our team of very savvy young Aussie devs (one of,) having gotten the platform early, immediately set about writing their own tools for it. I didn't work for them then, yet my SAP details, this was acheived in 8mths and finalised by Q1 2014; as initial demand for the service was high. That team grew beyond 8 persons, to 17 and then 26; eventually scaled back to 7.

So my personal outlook on Wii U, as gamer and eventually developer/projects manager; is that of 'missed opportunity'. To say the console was treated unfairly, is both subjective and an understatement. Yet, there it is, spilt milk and its not the first (or last) plastic box to go the way of the dodo.

Therefore, I think if platform power/capability was really 'a thing', then Wii U should have done much better than it did. I firmly believe that its more about what the games let you do when you are playing them (ie. LoZ: BotW) and how many different places those games come from.

where has all the good news gone?

Not just jackfrags. Several BF4 youtubers are showing footage. Levelcap, Vikkstar etc etc.

My suggestion is watch whichever version you are planning on buying. If you're happy, don't watch the other one Resolution? :) Resolution? :)

    Resolution?

What type of picture modes do you have on your tv? I'd be willing to bet there is an issue with the setting you are using? Is it a new console and are you just now hooking it up fr the first time?

Also, did yu calibrate your console properly?: Adjust display settings | Xbox One settings

    Hey buddy,

Unfortunately the xbox one does not support 1080i :( There is no word of it at the moment, however if you would like to make a suggestion, I'd reccomend adding your weight to the suggestion here:

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today despite this Max

May I know if you tried power cycling the console? Usually that helps to fix the problem with the resolution

    1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
    3. Plug the console power cable back in.
    4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

If you already tried that and if the issue persists. May I know if you tried using a different cable or connecting the console to a different HDMI port or TV?
