I agree with Lofty. I just would like for them to be on a level playing field that way the devs can concentrate on making the best possible game for the gamers.

 

Ubisoft CONFIRMED ALL VERSIONS WERE 30FPS ON CONSOLE. THEREFORE, SONY CANNOT BE TELLING THE TRUTH.

 

The difference between 720p and 1080p is almost twice the pixels lol. If you don't see a difference between 720p and 1080p you definately won't see a difference between 480p and 720p so don't buy a Xbone or a HDTV you won't notice any improvement, stick
with the xbox360 for the next year. You are wasting your money.

 

And between 1080p native and upscale ?

Is Forza 5 really at 1080p native?

Is Ryse really at 1080p upscale ?

 

It's not a difference one's eyes can see, then proceeded to give two example of where one would see a difference, the Masses example of a 42" TV at 10', and finally a link to a resolution vs distance chart.

Read what I write, not what you think I write. If the eye cannot discern those pixels, they're a waste of time to render.

 

Eyes can tell blurred textures and jaggies.

Thats where a higher resolution comes in. I'd like to see you link to a doctors website or something so I can hear from a professional that eyes cannot tell the difference.

Personally, I think you're just blowing smoke.

I sit about 7ft away from my 50inch HDTV at my apartment. Uncharted 3 looked ok. I went to my moms house during a tornado scare with the rest of my family and when everyone went to sleep I stayed up and played the same game (brought the PS3 over with UC3)
and played on a small 20inch and was about 5ft away...not a big difference in distance.

But the difference in looks was COMPLETELY obvious.

And pixels do matter. If you think they don't they go back to using 800x600 on all your games and let the rest of us enjoy games with crisper and sharper graphics.

While we're here, yes, resolution does make a difference. There's a very obvious difference between 720p and 1080p and like the post above says, if you apparently think there's no difference then you might as well go sell your X1 and stay with your 360.

 

But from the same TV,between Forza 5 and Ryse,which one runs at 1080p native and 1080p upscale ?

Only with eyes and no devs resolution announcements.

 

@ Tzar - Thats what I keep saying. I've said it at least 6 times since I came back and ppl still call me a SDF fanboy.

I keep saying the X1 auto upscales which truth be told isn't true 1080p and not as good...but it's bette than 720p b/c.....IT'S BEING UPSCALED.

It's not that bad. The graphics on the X1 aren't horrid or anything....and with the upscale it really only makes a slight difference. But ppl like Icestorm are arguing the wrong stance.....it's not whether or not you can tell a difference...you can.

It's the fact that the X1 upscales and it really shouldn't matter.

 

But nobody can't answer my question.....
