    Resolution squished on TV with Omega Release


    A note about the TV resolution issue that was reported in the release notes: my image was squished from the full resolution of the TV to only the middle third of it. The first thing I tried was rebooting the Xbox. That didn't fix it. I then went to the settings on my Xbox to see if changing resolution or anything would fix it but nothing did. I then went to my TV settings and rebooted that, which fixed it. I don't know if it was my Xbox or my TV that caused this problem.

    I tried it and it only squishes the 2560x1080P footage to a forced 1920x1080p resolution and it won't change, no matter what settings I did. I put in 2560x1080 into the settings on the .exe and it only still shows 1920x1080 with the video image being squished together and not the true 21:9 ratio.

    It doesn't save to be 2560x1080 either as I restarted the exe and it automatically goes back to 1920x1080. Am I missing something?

    Aspect Ratio Problem

    If I set it to HDMI instead of auto-detect and when I change the resolution to 1080 or 720 it is still cut off. Except when the resolution gets changed to 640 x 480 but then is it squished and very blurry and only the top and bottom green lines can be seen.

    Is there any way you could send me a link to those forums?

    Like you say Floppy, Resolution and Frame Rate isn't the Alpha and the Omega of gaming.

    But it's certainly an important part.

    But 1080p being chosen as the "benchmark framerate" for next gen gaming seems to be chosen by a bunch of people on the internet, most of whom aren't playing the games.

    Rather amusingly my XBox 360 is a higher resolution than my ONE because my TV upscales the image to 1280 for the 360 but the ONE locks my TV to 1080p.

    My ONE games still look better on the ONE than the 360 but "Earth Defense Force: 2025" is still more fun than many Next Gen titles.
