Resident Evil Revelations 2

Ha ha. HUNK was the first character I used in Raid mode on RER2. I stupidly even downloaded him before the compatibility pack needed to play Raid. The last time I got to play as him was in some pretty substandard multiplayer on Lost Planet 3. Cameo appearance.
That game so did not need a multiplayer mode. Heh.

I'll definitely be getting Evil Within, and yeah it seems like the genre is being resurrected, or re-imagined. Evil Within and Alien Isolation are on my to-do list. I played Silent Hill PT til I got stuck... watched the rest on YouTube... seems devs are
starting to get pacing, tension, and "horror" right again. =]

HUNK! He's the generic, gas-mask wearing bad ah-ss from Resi 2. The last time he actually looked bad ah-ss though was in Resident Evil: ORC cutscenes IMO.

I'm half-expecting Capcom will one day remove his mask and reveal a woman beneath. Because... {=O why the hell not!

 

^Haha, I personally don't think that will happen, to me it doesn't really make sense, mostly that his body has never came close to resembling a female and you could say it's hidden under the body armour, but go take a look at some pictures, especially the
ones with his arms folded... flat chest, bulge in the pants, haha:

I actually like playing as the female characters in Resi, but that would just ruin my whole perception of HUNK, kind of like how I couldn't play Mass Effect as a female, Sheppard as a character fit better as male to me.

 

Heh, the green HUNK in my post was a link to a Wiki too. But since when did Capcom and the Resident Evil franchise care about making sense? HUNK's mask comes off and... "WESKER? But you died!"

Gotta disagree with the Shepard thing dude. The male voice actor whose name I forget has all the personality of a brick. I've played each game through maybe three times each... FemShep with the better voice-acting + no romance = perfect Shepard. S'my personal
canon Shepard.

I think of Shepard like a Lara Croft character. Strong female lead for a franchise... but with a better story than Ms. Croft. =D

That is why I used qualifiers such as 'personally' and 'to me', obviously everyone's different. It's just if they were to do that with HUNK, I'd say that's as stupid as shredder being an alien like general krang in the 2013 reboot of TMNT, it would just
ruin my childhood, haha.

Man, my Shepard was a pimp starting relationships with all the women on board and then going with Liara and I think that really added to my experience with feeling closer to the whole crew, Garrus and me were bros, I just wouldn't change any of that. As
you say, to each his own.

Yeah with ME1 I did almost the same with my default John Shepard run the first time around and continued it through the trilogy. But with the FemShep, and with avoiding romance like landmines... she develops really strong friendships with the entire crew,
greatest with Garrus and Liara.

She has all the important moments, but the best ones are before big events, when she's alone in her quarters with no one around. [The bed scenes for romancing Shepards] S'kinda like she's strong all the time for the crew, always on, but she has her doubts
when alone, before the big breaths and insane plunges into more war. S'great! And also sad.

Also, she's a raven-haired blue-eyed beauty since, y'know, I created her. 10+ restarts of ME1 to get it perfect. lol <--- that is also sad. The other kind of sad. {XD

 

speaking of hunk i remember the other secret character in resi 2 the giant Tofu only had a knife to use dont think i ever done the game with it you had to do all 6 scenarios with an A ranking to unlock him if i remember right he had exactly the same level
that HUNK did

 

Yeah, I'd love to get a remake of Resident Evil 2 because I never did quite unlock all the special stuff when I was younger, the game was just far too brutal for me, these days I'd unlock it all pretty easily.

Today is the day I finally get revelations 2, I'm so excited!

 

Sooo having played every episode and enough Raid to get the achievements. Speaking for the 360 version. My advice to people looking to buy RER2 is...

1. to pick up Episode 1 and then buy the season pass to save money. If you're buying digitally. Or...

2. purchase the retail version which has almost everything bundled in.

Don't buy individual episodes unless you're looking to still have one or more questions even after reaching the end of episode 4, and you're looking to pay more overall. The "Extra Episodes" while fun, smack of cut content and they address questions from
the main four episodes - one of them pretty major to a specific character.

I just saw that individually for 360 they're priced at £3.99 [$5.99 USD] each. They're not worth that much IMO. They are included with the season pass though. The fact they're priced so uh, ridiculously high, is something of an incentive to buy the season
pass, which I suspect was the point.

So yeah, for what it's worth... that's my advice-ical. S'a great game with some cut-feeling, over-priced content. {XD

 

I wonder if the OP ended up buying it? I got the retail version and I'm really happy as you get costumes for the campaign, hunk and wesker for raid plus those extra episodes. I just don't feel like I'm not missing out on anything, haha.

My only complaint is why no head explosions? I'm really missing it and I never feel like I've fully killed an enemy. They don't all melt away either, but it's only minor. I can't wait to get into the raid mode on Barry's ep 4 now.

 

I got EP1 and the Season Pass. So I got HUNK, Extra Episodes, and outfits associated with the Extra Episodes. Bought separately this content drives the price up, so the season pass was a big saver.

No Wesker though. =[

If somebody is looking to buy a cheap game with bunch of hours worth of gameplay, I forgot to mention that you can buy EP1 on its own and get access to the full Raid mode in it. S'cheaper than a regular Arcade game and it's hours worth of gametime with plenty
of achievements too. =]

 

i cant wait for this to go online come on capcom cant wait till 31 i just did story last night it was good but i want more hope they will add more episodes but i cant see that happing anyone think the raid mode could be a bit harder i mean its good dont
get me wrong but compared to the first its a walk in the park i find myself going for the no hit challenge even tho it don't exist just to up the challenge or lower my lvl bellow recommended but the story is challenging on hard so i suppose it will keep me
going

 

^What rank are you? Once you get into the harder ones there's quite a lot of enemies that have fire, ice and lightening properties as well as a few other ones that have caught me off guard. I still haven't had to attempt a mission twice, but I can see they're
going to be pretty tough in the higher ranks!

 

Is it not online yet? The update said it was... but I haven't played it again. I want to max some games that have been stuck to my profile for what seems like forever for now.

I did get a newsletter after linking accounts with RE.net about prizes being available from April 1st, uh, a part of me didn't believe it. But I'm thinking the significance of April Fools is lost on the Japanese devs/publisher. So... lol

When I got to RE.net though, I saw for the first time the lady HUNK skin from RE: Revs 1. I had no idea that was a thing when I said Capcom would do a big reveal and have Hunk be a woman. Heh. Incidentally the skin looked... meh.

 

^A skin is a little different to saying they will reveal HUNK as a lady. =p That doesn't ruin my childhood.

Though, no I don't believe it's online yet and I'm sure I saw something on the website that said it was April 1st, which is a little unfortunate because I'll be going away for that 4 day weekend. I might still get a little in, but won't be sitting there
for 4 days straight which I'd loved to do, haha.
