    Resident Evil Revelations 2

Episode 3 is released in my region tomorrow so I can only comment on episodes 1 and 2. So far I think it's certainly worth the cash. I dumped cash onto the season pass for the "two extra episodes" - no idea what they are but, meh, it worked out cheaper anyway.

I have to agree with some reviewers that it feels like a complete game that has been sliced into episodes just because... well, just because. Reasons!

Remedy could have done the same thing with Alan Wake as that game too had the, "Previously on Alan Wake..." thing. I think if Alan Wake had been chopped up like this... the episodes would be longer than RER2's so far.

But yeah, it has great local co-op... especially if one co-op partner is a casual gamer, on light duty, or pointing duty, while you fight and shoot things. It has Raid mode which is a horde mode with plenty of arenas, characters, unlocks and upgrades.

The co-op doesn't trespass overtly on the singleplayer either, in fact its easier without a partner I think. Switching characters is rapid so you can setup follow up attacks easily and the AI partner doesn't take a great, deathly deal of damage when hit.
    It all works well.

My only pause in recommending it is... I suspect Capcom will do what Telltale did wit Walking Dead, and eventually give EP1 away for free. It'll be a long wait for that though, if it is the case, but something to think about.

I give it the thumbs up so far. There has been one big background revelation for the series' history so far for me... {=D

  5. Yeah I'm not sure why they went with episodes, maybe so they can keep working on finishing content. As I understand the raid mode won't be online until it's fully released?

I'm personally just waiting for the disc copy, I want all of it at once!

It is an odd decision. But I think people are more inclined to part with their cash when the price points are at that 5 mark. So even if people don't buy further episodes...

... Capcom reap more cash from episode one sales than they would with a full title launch and consumers choosing to buy at full price, or not! A negative choice there having no financial kickback at all.

You're right about Raid Mode dude. =] You can play singleplayer, but in the in-game manual for Raid online co-op, it states:

[Online Features will be added with title update.]

  7. I saw some gameplay footage of it and it looks pretty good. I want to get it soon and see if a friend will get it as well.

I thinks its amazing but im a real rezi fan still think 0 1 2 and 3 are the best anyone who has played revelations raid will love this raid mode so much more you can do its a shame there are not many achievements for raid and that they did not have xbox
live co op from the start it will be coming when full game is out i was a bit skeptical when i saw it will be in parts but lets face it its still cheaper than a new release the story is also good alot less of a fast pace shooter witch i think is good a bit
    more horror

they have also made the enemies look better as all who have played the first would tell u that a giant blob with teeth trying to kill you is well a bit weird so yeah it gets a 9/10 from me

PS//// sorry about my punctuation i no i suck just take a deep breath =)

  9. ^Awesome, glad to see a real Resi fan loving it, I myself love Resident Evil too and I like to hear that the enemies look better because the last few Resi games I played were remakes so I'm really keen for now new visuals!

I finished Claire's part of episode three last night. These may be spoilers... but meh, can locations be spoilers? Anyhoo, creepy locations include a disused factory and an old slaughterhouse... perfect. It then goes into the sewers.. booo. There's always
a sewers section in horror games these days! lol

I did play a bit of Barry's part [but I'm saving some for later between episodes] and his and Nat's gameplay manages to make sewers interesting. I think the gameplay with these two is infinitely better singleplayer, especially in this episode. Flipping from
character to character adds a new dimension to the intensity, and despite the makeup being more tropey horror sewers... it's cool level design.

@VeteranColossus I think my faves go 1 [GameCube remake] 4, 0... then this one, uh, RER2. I enjoyed 5 despite the clunky AI partner. Haven't played 6 or Revelations 1. But own them both so I'll get round to 'em eventually. =)

We're getting close to the full game release! Can't wait to pick up my copy!

@ Digi~ Sorry dude. It's not really spoilers. Generic descriptions of locations. Nothing spoilery. Scattershot... like there is a beach. It's on an island... S'in the description on the store. Heh.

I should add that the character flipping thing reminds me of Martian Gothic so it ain't new. Anyone ever play that? It was kind of a Resident Evil clone for PC years ago. It had a cool concept that would make for an interesting reboot with co-op today I
    think.

Hahaha, I didn't get to the bit where you asked if locations are spoilers and no, not really, I'd consider them as much of a spoiler as saying you can get the samurai's edge as a weapon, haha.

So desperately want to play it, though I think it will be worth the wait, comes out next Friday for me so I'll have alllll weekend to enjoy it. The Evil Within and Zombie Army Trilogy will keep me going till then.

Funny you should say that... you do get the... nah I'm kidding. It'd deffo make for a nice marathon game on a weekend me thinks. It has generous achievements too! 1960G. {XD I think, weirdly, that even if people only buy EP1 they get over 1K worth of cheevs
    to unlock.

I've gotta play The Evil Within - it looks like fun. But like a few games, I'm saving some for PC and next gen. Shadow of Mordor... I don't even want to see the 360 version. I'll play it when I get a One... even-shoo-ah-lee. =]

  15. Man you better get the samurai's edge! It's Barry's other gun from his magnum. I'm actually really excited to get back into raid mode with Hunk and I'll be able to play as him straight off the bat, not go through the hellish Abyss mode to unlock him, haha.

Highly recommend The Evil Within, really great to see survival horror truly alive and kicking and with a messed up story to rival The Matrix or Inception!
