Resident Evil HD

Anyone else getting this tonight?



Way back on the original, my main mistake was getting to the very last fight without any ammo. I ran that game a few times and bumped into that same issue over and over. My advice to anyone that hasn't played this game and plans to pick it up, conserve your
ammo as best you can. lol.



So who's excited for this? Am I the only one looking forward to a Jill sandwich?

Six games I'd really like to see on XBLA are:

Resident Evil HD

Resident Evil 0 HD

Resident Evil 2 HD

Resident Evil 3 HD

Viewtiful Joe HD

Viewtiful Joe 2 HD

All reworked for 16x9 aspect ratio. That's harder to do for the Resident Evil games because their backgrounds were static 4x3 pictures. (Resident Evil 0 had animation in the backgrounds but I think they were still mostly pre-rendered.)

Of course if they want to make a Viewtiful Joe 3 to go along with the other two, I'd like that too. They kind of copped out on the third Viewtiful Joe game by making it a fighting game instead of a platform game.

 

I reckon i'll be picking this up,be good to play some old Resi again.

^^ me too, still got the gamecube and ps versions. Its definately sound advice to conserve ammo, use the knife or run rather than waste it when you can get away with it. Really looking forward to it, would love to see resident 2 get the hd make over too.

 

If Resi 2 got a HD remake I would die of excitement. Hell I would even take a straight port if that was an option. If I remember correctly, you had to play that 4 times to get the true ending? Or the ending from all perspectives.

I'm glad you three are getting this. I have it downloading as we speak. I'm pretty excited to go toe to toe with good ole hunters again.

That's what used to make survival horror so good. That moment where you found yourself in a room with 3 enemies, low ammo and the thought hits you... you haven't used an ink ribbon in over an hour lol.

 

The early Resi games were some of my faves so I am all over this one!!

Watched a few twitch streams of this and its one i will steer clear from. Just remembering how clunky the controls were ont that game!! It does look pretty in HD tho!

 

Is this the same Resi as the one on ps3 does anyone know or have they changed it?

Might pick it the GF she loves a good horror game and she hasnt played RE before. Im in between that and The Evil Within atm.

 

Boas Alien Isolation is a great horror game, OT I have no interest in RE games played 5 I think on the 360 and it was ok, started 6 and hated it.

 

I dont think i would get on with AI. It just seems a bit slow paced and i think the GF may find it a bit tricky. Think i will await the inevitable price drop and pick this up.

 

Well my first (and so far only) achievement was "You are Dead - Get used to it" lol. I got wiped by that first zombie in the hallway lmao. Rookie. Oh how youth nowadays have it easy. If this game had of been created nowadays, there would of been an autosave
in the main hall, then one in the dining room lol. I have a feeling this title will make a few of the younguns scream in disbelief!

 

I know right,having to collect ribbons & finding a typewriter in order to save!!!!
