resetting the system for resale

i'm selling my xbox 360 and I need to get my information off of the system how do I reset completely.

The European Court Of Justice decided: software can be resold!

The Oracle case does not automatically apply to games. There was already a court case in the EU over resale of ebooks. It was determined ebooks cannot be resold. There's a pending court case over the inability to resell game licenses bought on Steam.

@Sunburst It wouldn't have killed resale of games because the policies ALLOWED RESALE OF GAMES.

Hi mammagirl1974!

Thanks for reaching out to us! If you would like to wipe your console prior to selling it, you'll want to format the storage device.

To format a storage device

Press the Guide button
on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.

Select Storage or Memory.

Select the storage device that you want to format, and then press Y
on your controller.

Select Format. You will see the following message:

This will delete all content on this device. Do you wish to continue?

Select Yes to format the storage device.

If prompted to enter your console serial number, do so, and then select
Done. This step helps guard against accidental formatting.

The console serial number is located on the back of the console, and behind the oval door on the front of the console.

This should erase all the information you've saved on that particular console. Don't forget to make sure you know all your log in information for your Xbox profile if you plan on using it on a different console in the future!

digital = no resale, no resale = people can't buy used = they have to buy new = $$ for them
